The Jacksonville Jaguars signed former University of Tennessee defensive tackle Jesse Mahelona.
In June, Mahelona was among the final cuts by made by the CFL's Montreal Alouettes.
Mahelona, 25, was waived by the Tennessee Titans before the 2007 season started. He was signed by Miami in October but was released a week later by the Dolphins. He joined Atlanta on Nov. 20 and was inactive in four of five games before he was released by the Falcons.
He played in 10 games with one start as a rookie in 2006 after being drafted by the Titans in the fifth round of the draft.
