Scrimmage statistics from Thursday

Tennessee wrapped up its final major scrimmage of fall camp Thursday evening in Neyland Stadium.

The scrimmage was the most game-like to date, with the No. 1 offense playing against the No. 2 defense and vice versa.

First. Gwahahahahah! Whine about it fools! Anyway. It looks like Crompton had an excellent game again, and the run game looks like it performed pretty well.

Curious to know if our tackling improved at all though

Major_Magilicutty writes:

And no receptions for Ahmad Paige either....hmmmm.

byobbio writes:

Don't they want to throw to Brandon Warren?

TommyJack writes:

No Bolden tackles?

PreventUT writes:

Much improved performance by Hardesty

orangecountry21 writes:

I like B-Warned better champs. And he should be a big part of our offense.

invisiblekid writes:

Looks like Roper finally remembered to get Hardesty in the game. Seriously, glad to see it for the kid and I hope it translates to the season.

PreventUT writes:

Adam Myers-White starts and lays a goose egg?

I wasn't there to see how each played, but I'm guessing McKenzie will start in the UCLA game, though it really doesn't matter. Both will see plenty of playing time at LB this year.

What's up with big Dan Williams' family. Isn't this like the 2nd or 3rd scrimmage in a row he's missed b/c of family problems?

tndrum#214683 writes:

Gerald Williams-academics. Should I be worried or are they just waiting for that last grade? I sort of like him in the middle of the defense.

21 rushes for 157 7.4 avg
23-42 passing for 239 yds 3 TD

Love the rush stats but would like a little higher completion rate
Wonder how much the FB was used

agree with you tndrum...I like Williams in the middle, but you got to wonder with him not being at practice..

WHERE'S GERALD?

invisiblekid writes:

I am thinking that Creer may have lost his place in line to Poole, word is he fumbled again. Two straight scrimmages with fumbles can't make the coaches too happy.

Still doesn't look like we have a number 2 QB as of yet either.

PreventUT writes:

Creer is expected to be the kick off returner, no?

I don't know about putting EB on offense, but I would love to see the kid return punts full-time!

jmbigorange#280428 writes:

Berry is so critical on defense for us i could care less if he ever sees the offensive side of the ball. Besides with GJ i don't think we need him on offense.

jmbigorange#280428 writes:

savage.... Anything on Williams?

Madkels writes:

Here's a story that came out today on foxsports.com

Pretty accurate...

When you go to "Drew's Notebook" and read the comments section there is a random person (sea1bass) claiming that G. Williams has not fulfilled his "acedimics" requirement. Whoever composed that little masterpiece is quite the literary genius. I can only assume his claims are B.S. as well.

Kosmo, 7:29 - Huh?

did we win?

thesavageorange writes:

jmbigorange, he didn't scrimmage today.Has a few loose ends to tie up still. He was at the scrimmage a little later on though. Not yet time to panic.

Have a good night everyone.

rabidvol1998 writes:

savage, what do you mean "tie up"? Does he have an incomplete?

Is there a concern?

utwick writes:

I think Prentiss Wagner will be a good one.

Ironcity writes:

Its not just Bolden with no tackles there are none next to Williams or Fisher. Could be we are running everything wide.

lomas98 writes:

How long does it take to get a grade for a test taken Monday? I haven't got good vibes about Williams. Even if he does qualify for this season, he will be one that doesn't make a bowl game due to academics. Even with all the time he has taken to get to this point, he still needs to pass 1 class. Nothing like waiting until the last minute.. How many years did he have to prepare for this??

miamiVOL writes:

G.Williams was on the field today ,but did not have pads on. He was stretching in the end zone during the scrimmage, imo, looks like he was stretching and testing a pulled LAT muscle. A G.A. (grad asst) informed us that he HAS passed his class, CC-of-SF has mailed the records which should be recieved tomorrow. Hopefully this is made offcial on Friday

jmbigorange#280428 writes:

miamivol...thanks bro! Good news.

utwick...Me too. Good to see Waggner making waves this early in his career. Might have pushed for playing time had it not been that we already have the 2 best safetys around.

CoverOrange writes:

looks like Britton is mailing it in. Unless that was a pooch kick I would be surprised if we see him on the field even after the fifth game.

gohawks1 writes:

Kosmo - sorry, I'm just a little slow today. End of the week and all that, you know.... 20+ years in public education will do that to a guy :-)

gohawks1 writes:

Any word on how Warren did today? I don't see his name in the stats.

jason.taylor#629315 writes:

Paige has one catch for 17 yds

Ralph_Crampton writes:

I note that some of the fans have predicted Vol win by thirty or more points..The Vols have scored 30 points in only one game...they have not close to that in other games...Vols seem to have trouble with their offense..it seems the West coast teams play better defense almost every time. If Bruins start running on Vols at start of game...that's a terrible sign that this is not the Vols' night.

jmbigorange#280428 writes:

Bigfan502...You seemed to forget the fact that UCLA has a ton of injuries, an unproven JC transfer @ QB, a new Offensive cord. We have the best RB in the SEC which is the toughest conference in college football. What happens if we get our running game goig early? I like our chances...Sept 20th will be the real test!

CoverOrange writes:

bigfan said "The Vols have scored 30 points in only one game."

umm, we haven't played a game yet this season, that is an erroneous, not to mention, misleading statement.

If you were referring to last season then we scored over thirty 8 times (7 if you discount OT).

If you are referring to only games on the west coast, that is an erroneous and irrelevant stat. We scored 31 last year, 30 in 97 and 23 in 94. Before that was different coaches, not to mention different players, different era.

Try doing some research next time.

Sheepscape writes:

I like those rushing numbers in particular, but I hope this isn't just a case of the ones running roughshod over the twos.

SemperVol writes:

Stick it to 'em, Turbo!

That's almost too stupid that it doesn't warrant a response. At the same time it's too ignorant not to completely chastise here.

Littlefan must be on the wrong message board.
