How could one tell. There is a lot of linemen on the fence. Coach is working like "Heck" to get some. Another ridiculous poll.

I don't know who's coming or going anymore. How can it be rated?

Coach seems to be making in roads, But we need to sign a drop back passer. Unless Coleman can be saved.

KNS how are we supposed to rate the recruiting class without some type of article informing us of who they are? Who came up with this question? We need some idea of who the recruiting class consists of before we can give our opinion of it. Follow up story? It may be a better idea to write a story first instead of coming up with some base-less poll question.

And that would be the 1st Wednesday in February.
This poll's well ahead of the hounds.

How can you know who is going to sign when you are dealing with 18 year olds, until they sign on the line they are all very soft commits for every school.

Great one Bro'! You could be another Lincoln!
eb502us#225637 writes:
Speaking of Lincoln, we need a field goal kicker in this class because if there's no one on the roster better than Lincoln, we're in real trouble next year.
Jamey1210 writes:
In Feb. this will be a top 5 class. As soon as Monte Kiffin and Coach O join. We will sky rocket to the top. Book it.
BillsBrother writes:
Ah, yes. Mr Lincoln the kicker.
It's hard to put more than one on scholarship due to the numbers.

A good holder is important too.

Since we only have two coaches until January my guess is it won't be that hot.
govols87 writes:
guys don't get your hopes up...we got 4 qbs that are drop back passers that obviously kiffin likes...plus we got plenty Oline people we just needed a RB and some Dline which we should already have...Kiffin is after a few playmaker WR to be immediate playmakers...look for Brown and Jeffrey to hop on before signing day...Alshon will have to decommit from USC first
mdavis332#560634 writes:
Seems like four or five are having second thoughts and have become non-committed or soft verbal. So It would be imposible to rate at this time until we hear more on who's coming who's staying and who we can get from this point.
tnbigg writes:
BIG TIME...but maybe this summer Lincoln won't be so cocky when a kicking coach offers to help him...
paulvol writes:
I'll say it again. Kiffen should have never given up on recruiting Rivals #3 rated dual threat 4 star QB Tajh Boyd. He can run (500 yards rushing last year), throw (69.3% passing effecincy 2050 yards and 25 touchdown passes last year), and he is also a better all around athlete than anybody else we have right now and he said that he wanted to play in a pro-style offense. Remember the last time we had that kind of QB in Tee Martain? That's the only mustake Kiffen has made so far in my oppinion.
tnbigg writes:
Hmmmm...when folks find this defensive poll offensive they call it poll-e-d and when folks see a similar...poll about offense offensive they refer to it as poll-e-o I think...then they register the results with the e-i-e-i-o...
wagee12 writes:
Come on Paulie me boy, don't ya think that CLK knows just a tad more about evaluating players than thee.
Way too early to be rating the recruiting class because at the moment there is no class, just some verbals, some soft verbals, some secret targets, etc.
In Kiffin and Reaves, you have two of the very finest young recruiters in the business. I just got a sneakin' suspicion that they will "turn" a couple of difference makers UT's way before signing day.
yeavols#228407 writes:
I think we have a good QB in Coleman...the new commit out of Texas, Bryce Petty is pretty good from watching some film..he can be developed..He's only a 3 star but still..
cobbwebb writes:
agree 100%, this kid may have turned into a fine pro style qb with a little coaching! nice stats as well, from what i understand this kid has a strong arm and nice touch. kiffin may regret letting this one get away, considering whichever qb we go with next season is going to take a lot of coaching, might as well be a talented newcomer that hasnt had 2-3 offensive systems crammed down his throat the last 2-3 years! jmo!
tnbigg writes:
Odd...but me too...
cobbwebb writes:
people keep saying good for clk, being honest with boyd, total garbage! since when did morals enter the recruiting game? i dont buy that nonsense, i wish kiffin had tried to keep this kid, as evident by my previous post. however like i said morals, and honesty have no part in recruiting so maybe kiffin did see something in this kids film he didnt like!
bluetick writes:
No sh it! Now this is an ignorant poll if I ever saw one. I wish we could hear some MORE about recruting.. How about dig up some stories on that!
skcocog writes:
And you're a "dang' idiot too.
skcocog writes:
And who told you that moron?
cobbwebb writes:
exactly, how bout some inside scoop, some investigative reporting on a recruit we may not know about, or a visit kiffin made to a commit, trying to convince him to come to tenn. instead! we dont know really who is on board or who is not, how can we rank this class? i will give it a try, how bout #1 , there now send my vote to tom lemming!
skcocog writes:
C'mon, I know you didn't think of this by your "dang" self. You Hillbillie!

pal ive been to columbia, and trust me there may not be hills, but there are certainly sandbillies, some of the dumbest, reddest, inbred people ive ever had the unpleasure of meeting! so check yourself knucklehead before you start tearing somebody else down, you goon!
Richmondvol writes:
I disagree. I think letting him go was the right choice. Heres the problem. The kids read Rivals and Scount info too. If Boyd is the least bit of a gamble to work in Kiffins offinse he had to let him go. The risk is tha tnot only could BOyd end up not working out or being a disgruntled player in the locker room, but it also limits Kiffins ability to go out and get 1 or 2 big time 4 or 5 star recruits that do fit his system this year or next year. The kids would see that Tenn recruited a 4 star guy (Boyd), have a knee jerk reaction and write Tenn off. By sending Boyd hom Kiffin does two things, he gives himself more leverage to get a big time guy or two, and form a credibility standpoint recruits and players know he is going to shoot stragith because there are some coaches out there who would recruit this kid just to recruit him, regardlesss of what is best for the athlete.
govols87 writes:
It just kills me when posers from other schools come to this web site and try to make fun of UT...wich you can't blame SC fans... we did steal Reaves and now he's recruiting all the guys he signed for SC to come to UT...I love it go vols!!!
hotrodvol writes:
Richmond, I think you are right on. Kiffin may think he has a good shot at a very good QB this year. Even so I would rather have a couple spots open for next year, then he could sign two QBs, if he doesn't get the big one this year.
Slystone writes:
Isn't it really to early to tell? There are several key recruits that still have not made up there minds. A wait see attitude should prevail here.
murrayvol writes:
It's never too early to tell Sly. Just too early to be accurate.
Actually most recruits have made up their minds. They have not, however, told the coaches at the schools where they will spend their official visits surrounded by 5-Star escorts. You only get recruited once in life so do it with gusto.
This board waits for no one.......not even a 5-Star recruit.

Murrayvol;
you've reminded me of times when I witnessed some lineman recruits doing it with gusto.
I worked at a steakhouse in Knoxville that serves a 28 oz T-bone steak.
Those big ol young lineman recruits would come in and polish off two of those steaks including the potatoes and salad. They were definitely 5* eaters.
Toss in a few parties and a pretty escort and I can see why they want to take all of their allowable trips!

UGA, Georgia Tech, Tennessee coaches visit Centennial DE

Centennial’s Euclid C*mmings was a popular player with college coaches today.
He received visits from Georgia offensive line coach Stacy Searels, Georgia Tech receivers coach Buzz Preston and Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin.
Substitute the asterick with a "u". The net nanny thought I was a perv and wouldn't let me post it until I changed it...Geesh..anyway..just an update
