CLEVELAND — Cleveland running back Jamal Lewis became the 24th player in NFL history to rush for 10,000 career yards.
The former University of Tennessee standout came in needing 63 yards and went over the milestone on an 8-yard burst up the middle in the third quarter. He finished with 76 yards on 16 carries, but didn't have any desire to celebrate after Cincinnati got its first road win this season, 14-0 over the hapless Browns, who lost their fifth straight and haven't scored a touchdown in more than a month.
"It's a great accomplishment and I'm happy to be here, but at the same time it would have felt even better if we would have had a winning season," Lewis said. "The record is the least of my concerns. It's been a disappointing season."
The 29-year-old played seven seasons with Baltimore, where he gained 7,801 yards before signing as a free agent with the Browns in 2007. He gained 1,304 yards last season, his best since 2003, when he rushed for 2,066 for the Ravens.

Not exactly, Rich. The charges came out in February 2004 and he served 4 months beginning that March and also served a 4 game suspension in 2004 and still managed over a thousand yards in 12 games. 2005, a year and a half later, he made only 900.
2001, when he sat out due to injury cost him the most, probably, when he was in his prime.
I hope he can play a few more years and get HoF status. A plus 100 game against Pittsburgh I think will put him over a 1000 for this year, 7 out of 8 years.

Along side OJ? A bit of an exaggeration don't ya think?
However, there are other reasons for Bob Hayes being left out, all debateable. Agree though, Jamal Lewis has a long way to go make a mark, longevity and consistency being his best suit.

That's ok. I will just get another girlfriend. She's cheap and easy to replace.

Scout.com has a new commitment to the Vols: 6-2, 195, 3*, WR. He is from Leon HS in FL. If I recall, that is the HS that produced Tony Robinson. Ergo, he may need some enculturation.

Who cares?
He quit in 99 because he didn't want to get hurt. It showed Fulmer's "character" in that he let it perpetuate and went along with it claiming Jamal was hurt when he never was. He was probably the person who started the "player before self" attitude that has plagued the program for 10 years.

how does it feel to know your bball coach is a drunk? the guy is banned from numerous bars and restaurants in lexington because he has made a complete arse out of himself on several occasions, and the great university you support hired a private driver to drive his drunk arse around, because this knucklehead lost his liscense while at his previous job! not to mention he has been banned from the student population, because of his fixation with young girls! now thats just plain comical, well maybe just plain sad! you should be careful to whom you throw stones at my big blue friend! by the way lil ol tenn chatt. passed on your boy "rockin" randy for who? step off chump!

I'm not sure I have ever read Hiresanders express allegiance to any particular school. That he is a Kentucky fan based on his name is a little suspect.

One thing for certain that we know for sure Turbo. He isn't a UT fan. You can book that. And therefore, his opinion about UT sports is irrelevant.
He's still torqued because his hero couldn't get a job at Chattanooga.

Right on! I was going to let it go. I heard Tim Erwin say he refused to play at Ky because the grass was to long, and I remember his last Fl game he was wide open ont heir favorite power play wide left pitch and he went down easy to end the Vols come back, game over.
