Commitments
Tennessee picked up another significant commitment in the young Lane Kiffin era.
James Green, 6-foot-3, 200 pounds, informed UT's coaches of his decision to be a Vol on Monday morning.
The star receiver from Leon High School in Tallahassee, Fla., picked UT over Florida State and Florida.
Since Kiffin took over for Phillip Fulmer earlier this month, UT has picked up commitments from Hillsboro cornerback Eric Gordon and defensive lineman Arthur Jeffrey Jr. from Booker High School in Sarasota, Fla. Kiffin has also convinced two formerly committed junior college prospects, Alcoa defensive end Rae Sykes and defensive tackle Jonathan Hollins from Baton Rouge, La., to re-sign with UT. Both did last week.
The recent influx in talent is much needed as UT lost six commitments due to its coaching change.
UT has 18 commitments for the 2009 class. National Signing Day is Feb. 4.
