LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky guard DeAndre Liggins admits he was worried about his future with the Wildcats after he refused to enter a game in Las Vegas last month.
Liggins raised eyebrows when he stayed on the bench rather than enter the game in the second half of a victory over Kansas State. The freshman said he was simply angry because he felt he should have a larger role on the team.
Speaking for the first time about the incident following an easy win over Central Michigan on Monday night, Liggins told reporters he simply “had a bad day.” Liggins said he and coach Billy Gillispie are now seeing eye to eye and that he’s trying to be a better teammate.
Liggins had six points and a team-high eight assists against the Chippewas in his first start of the season and said he hopes to be in the starting lineup again on Sunday when the Wildcats face No. 18 Louisville.

My guess is that Liggins was just sobering up and thinking "don't drink & sign letters of intent" so he didn't notice he was supposed to go in the game.
