LSU head coach Les Miles said he would have no announcements on coaching staff changes until after his team's bowl game Wednesday night.
Miles is expected to hire former Vols defensive coordinator John Chavis to the same position at LSU. The Tigers play Georgia Tech in the Chick-fil-A Bowl in Atlanta.
“There will not be any announcement regarding our coaching staff until we return to Baton Rouge. Right now the only thing we are focused on is getting ready to play Georgia Tech in the Chick-fil-A Bowl and I don’t want to do anything to take away from the opportunity our team has here in Atlanta," Miles said in a statement. "We have a chance to win our eighth game and finish the season on a positive note and that's our focus.
“I will not make any additional comments regarding my staff until we return to Baton Rouge.”

Word is that they are also interested in Ed Orgeron (who I think we are interested in too).

Standard procedure to announce after the bowl games. Concensus is Orgeron is coming to Tennessee unless they don't want to pay him what he's asking. As far as the getfulmerback.com site goes, it's just another blog for the depressed and self downtrodden. It probably is a great place to get some therapy though.

I think the getfulmer site is designed for the long term with goals being...Peyton Manning HC, Eli Manning OC and Archie DC

If that website's goal is to help UT regain national prominence, then why in the phooey would you want the fat one back who brought it down? They need help, i tell you

I have a customer that is very good friends and used to coach with Ed and he said that Miles is a weiney!!!
There is also a good chance that Ed may stay in New Orleans, like you said because of money.

That site should be working like heck to do something productive for Fulmer. Suggestion: lobby for him to the Detroit Lions. He would work like heck to get them to 1 and 15 next year and unless he wins 2 he wouldn't even demand a contract extension and raise. He is a bargain at 6 mil.

LOL PMS...and I agree Jbrando, Shipperman, Txvolsfan..

Of course I meant to be tongue in cheek. However if the rumors that Pilot Oil is opening 15 new locations in Michigan and expanding their new Pro Football Operations division to Detroit are true....well...who knows. Sorry my dog ate the link to my sources. He just can't refuse a snack of resourceful blogs. Damn you Smokey! Quit inhaling those exhaust fumes.

Support CLK and Go Vols! This sends the wrong message. Lane Kiffin is our coach now. Be thankful!

no offense VP, but that site is bad. and i'm not even talking about the content. it is just a badly formed site.

that LSU is soooooo sneaky... wonder who in the world their DC will be?

we are not half as psychotic as the guys who wanted him gone. You can laugh about it now, but what if you had Fulmer here one more year? See what I mean. You'd be biting your toenails down to the bone. As far as depression goes, sports is one thing, national security another. How can the country not put a national hero in the white house? A military man as a Commander in chief. They must think that it is a no brainer of a job, and that anybody could do it? That's what they think of Bush, thanks to the national new s media's non coverage of this man. Did you now see the positive spin with Laura Bush and Afhanistan? And the women there? What a big joke! The joke willbe on the news media some day, and i don't want to be there to share it with them.

Unless he is just dragging this thing out for dramatic effect, the big problem with Orgeron right now appears to be his willingness to leave his home state. This is why it's going to cost us. With the coaching carousel that is the NFL this year I don't think the Saints get into a bidding war for a guy they've only had around for 1 year. It's only been a few days since his team played its last game. I think we get an announcement within the next week. He's still thinking it over and it makes all us impatient as he!!...

WHEN DOES KIFFEN GOING TO ANNOUNCE THE OTHER COACHES HE IS GOING TO HIRE. WHO ARE SOME NAMES THEY ARE LOOKING AT. THE CARROLL KID THAT COMMITTED TO USC BACKED OUT AND LOOKS GOOD FOR THE BIG ORANGE.

I wonder how long Chavis will put up with Miles. I really dislike Miles' whole attitude.
Who's the Carroll guy ?
gnm53108 writes:
Good question, but disreguarding Miles this could be a real good gig for coach Chavis. With the talent pool in the state of LA,not to mention whats already on the docket at LSU,he could put together one nasty defensive unit.
My question is now that he has severed the apron strings,is he going to start climbing the ladder? Is LSU just a stepping stone for the ole Chief?
Tenn_Dawg writes:
Since you guys say Cheif does not like to recruit it looks like Miles has found a solution to that problem. The LSU papers are reporting that LSU has offered Ed "O" Assoc HC and recruiting Coord position at $600,000 a yer. Not a bad gig!
