Leonard Scott wins 60 at Millrose Games

NEW YORK — Former University of Tennessee standout Leonard Scott demonstrated his indoor dominance again by winning the Metro men’s 60 meters in 6.59 seconds at the Millrose Games on Friday at Madison Square Garden.

“I just had surgery on both of my knees in September,” said Scott, who was third in the 60 last week in Boston. “I needed to get back in the competitive nature. Last week was a snip of the beginning for me and this week I was ready. Now it’s about getting your rhythm. The sky is the limit.”

Meanwhile, Bernard Lagat used his signature finishing kick to win the Wanamaker Mile in 3:57,51. The Kenyan-born American moved a victory away from Eamonn Coghlan’s meet record of seven wins.

Great to see Leonard doing well.

Dang, dang shame that he never really caught on in football but I don't hold that against him. He's dad blamed fast that's for sure!

By the way, let's just honor his achievement and not break out with the "he couldn't catch a cold in a Siberian government flu ward" comments.

eVOL: Nice work, but I think it is a bit inaccurate.

Distances over 40 yards will always be faster because the runner is at top speed for a longer period of time.

For example, let's say an athlete takes 2.5 seconds to reach top speed. If that athlete is running for 60 meters, it will be faster comparatively with the 40 meters because his acceleration time in the 40 is about 60% of the total time to run compared to only 45% in the 60.

My math formulas are all guesswork but I think you see the science behind it right?

eVOLution a little pay back from earlier. It is "And his 40 time" not "And he's 40 time" good job professor.
GO Vols!!!

I do remember Leonard running a kickoff back for a td against UGA in Neyland. I was there with 6 uga fans and I had a blast! Good times indeed!
