SEC coaches pick Vols to finish last in East
SEC baseball coaches apparently don’t think much of Tennessee’s chances for greatness this season.
The coaches picked the Vols to finish last in the Eastern Division and UT received the fewest point of any team in the preseason coaches' poll announced today by the league office.
Vanderbilt was picked to win the East, receiving seven first-place votes and 62 points. With 18 points, UT had 11 less than Alabama, which was picked to finish last in the SEC West. Ole Miss was tabbed to win that division with 10 first-place points and 65 points overall.
The poll:
East
1. Vanderbilt (7) 62 points
2. South Carolina (3) 58
3. Kentucky (1) 42
4. Georgia (1) 38
5. Florida 29
6. Tennessee 18
West
1. Ole Miss (10) 65
2. Mississippi State 47
3. Arkansas (2) 39
