CAYCE, S.C. — South Carolina receiver Dion Lecorn was arrested at an apartment complex and charged with marijuana possession.
The 19-year-old freshman was released on his own recognizance after spending the night in jail.
A police report says the player from Ocala, Fla., and two other men told police they had been smoking marijuana Sunday night in a car at the complex, about 10 miles from the university. An officer on patrol smelled the marijuana when she came over to the car to tell the men to turn down the music.
Police said they found a burnt marijuana cigarette in the ashtray during a search and Lecorn indicated it was his.
It was not immediately clear if Lecorn had a lawyer. Telephone and e-mail messages left for Lecorn were not immediately returned.
Lecorn and a second player in the car, freshman receiver Matt Clements, have been suspended from the team, according to a statement from coach Steve Spurrier.
Lecorn had 27 catches for 315 yards and three touchdowns last season, and Clements played in two games.

Yep sjt18... Perhaps the athletic department at Tenn. should publicly release its discipline policy for student athletes to explain to everyone how it works as compared to other institutions.

As I said previously, the culture is in decline. This shows that it's not endemic to TN. My take.

as i have said before.....none of this is new. regretably, this stuff happens everywhere.
the reason why tenn is catching a lot of flack is the amount of incidents within a short period of time.

He'll play this fall. Suspended, not thrown off.
Has anyone ever been suspended for being over-frittered?

THE_VOL, I'm sure this didn't occur to you... but maybe they are trying to provide a little perspective to the discipline problems that folks like you seem to think are unique to UT?

Yeah that's it, it's Fulmer's fault. It's all his fault. It's his fault everywhere. He caused the tornados. He caused global warming. He invented beer, cars and youth. Yeah, that's it.
What happened to touchdowntn, the greatest Fulmer hater of all?

Ryan Perilloux was also suspended indefinitely today for violating team rules. Miles said he didn't know what his status was for Spring Practice... Nope. Not kidding. It was on Rivals.
BTW, Miles should be shot for not being able to control his QB 24 hours a day.

Nope, at miami they are clean as a whistle....and the story about the guy at OU shooting automatic weapon was overstated.

According to John Adams, it's Fulmer's fault.

John Adams, can't you do something about this? I thought it was the job of the KNS to ONLY MAKE UT LOOK BAD! Please help, John Adams!
