University of Tennessee basketball player Jordan Howell needs to be in another center court: TV's "American Idol." He's better than most of them you'll hear there.
Give a listen to him singing Wednesday night and I think you'll agree.
Scott Cacciola of the Memphis Commercial Appeal wrote:
"Senior Jordan Howell serenaded the fans before Wednesday night's game at Thompson-Boling Arena.
"Video screens suspended high above the court displayed a montage of Howell's highlights, accompanied by a recording of him playing piano and crooning Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On."
"His performance was so soulful and surprising -- Howell has some Motown in him? Who knew? -- that the orange-clad crowd began to clap along with the beat. His Tennessee teammates interrupted their layup line to offer chest bumps and high fives. Howell did not do a particularly good job hiding his embarrassment."
And what song will he be singing after Saturday night's game?
