Former Vol All-American Ernie Grunfeld will be among the speakers at the Big Orange Tipoff Club finale gala at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Foundry in World's Fair Park.
The gala will be part of a big basketball weekend. The Vols play host to Kentucky on Sunday, a game at which Grunfeld's jersey will be retired.
The theme of the event will be to honor the late UT coach Ray Mears, who directed Vols teams that included Grunfeld and fellow All-American Bernard King.
Other speakers will be John Ward, Billy Justus, Larry Robinson, Mike Jackson, Lynn Aberdeen, Dana Mears and Joan Cronan.
Tickets are $25 each and $250 for a reserved table of 10. UT ticket forms are available at www.utfan.com/tipoff.
