ESPN LOVES Bruce Almighty. What ESPN loves, ESPN gets. Vols #1 seed.

Rabidvolfan What are you smoking? KNS is a good paper, but Adams????? Please someone in Louisiana offer him a job, so don't have to read any of his _____!

Beat Vandy, keep the ride alive.

rabidvolfan - please, turn the caps lock off, important message or not, all caps is about as annoying as a John Adams article, you just can't get rid of it fast enough!

There's still a lot of work left to be done. First up is Vandy our middle brother of the state. It will be very hard to win back to back games away from home on their home court. The TN players spent so much energy Saturday night with Memphis (a great team-probally still a #1 seed in the tournament). Do we remember what Vandy did to KY (1 of 2 teams that has beat TN this year) at home. Then, there is still no time to rest- there's a little pay back instore for Sunday when the Wildcats come to town. Then TN gets one day off to go to FL and play the Gators (who owes us some pay back of their own). Finally, we have senior night with South Carolina. TN finally gets 4 days and 4 nights to rest up for the SEC 2nd round (as long as we are #1 or 2 in the East). I'm sorry I mean #1-SEC Regular Season Champions by ourselves (1st time in 41 years). Didn't we do this before-1957 NCAA Football Champions-1998 (41 years again). Let's go BIG ORANGE-KICK SOME VADY @$$! GO VOLS!

If we win the next 4 games we will not only be a #1 seed, we will be the top seed overall. It will not matter what we do in the SEC Tourney.

BigVolinCarolina writes:

Still too soon to tell....we've got 2 tough road games left, not to mention home games and the SEC Tourney. If it started today, yeah, we'd be a #1 seed. But it's WAAAAAAAAAAAY too early.

Hang in there, Vols and Vol fans...one game at a time.

Bleed, there are two days between the Kentucky Sunday and the Florida Wednesday. Had me worried there for a moment.

murrayvol writes:

bleed, I must have slept through that 1957 NCAA Football Championship. I was thinking Auburn 57' & Vols 51'.

As for the seed, it all depends on what the Vols and others do over the remaining games and their respective tournaments. Win out and remove all doubt. Drop 1 or 2 and who knows? Just hope UK doesn't do to us what we did to UF the last 2 years. Vandy will be tough and a loss there will make UK a must win for an outright SECC.

Can't imagine not being a 1 (in the South Region) if we win the SEC outright 7 & maintain our RPI.

Greer...yeah, I think he liked demonstrating man-to-chick defense! I'm not sure how crazy she was about it, though.

johnlg00#206211 writes:

If we don't lose more than one more regular-season game--and please, please, please, not to VANDY!--we will have a #1 seed no matter how we do in the SEC tournament. I saw a discussion with some of the selection committee last year, and they said that they don't pay any attention to the conference tourneys except for some bubble team that makes a long run. If we run the table, season and SEC tourney, we should be the overall top seed. In that case, I can't imagine why we wouldn't. BTW, CBS carries the NCAA tournament, so it doesn't matter what ESPN thinks of us.

10ACVOL writes:

Greer, HA I forgot about that til just now...I rewound it to see the look on her face. I just knew the national media would have a field day with that, I haven't seen anything on it yet tho.
Bruce employed the 10 defense on her, 10 FINGERS

Does anyone know what time the polls come out?

Usually around 1:00 eastern time

Hey, hiresanders, Duke and UNC don't have to play US, either! I know Texas took us pretty good a life-time ago--i.e., before J.P.--but I would like our chances in a rematch. We are deeper than UNC is right now and we are bigger than Duke. We are at least as fast as, if not faster than, both of them. Besides each other, Duke and UNC don't "play anybody" in their conference, either--the weakest ACC in at least five years--and I would put our non-conference schedule against any of theirs. In fact, if ours wasn't better, at least by some measures, our RPI wouldn't be higher than theirs. Some people, probably for personal reasons of their own, just can't stand the fact that we are solidly among the elite teams in the country. If you think we are gloating, well, after all the years of suffering we Vol bball fans have endured, yeah, we are, while it lasts, and it surely isn't over yet.

Man, I'm hoping we get the number one seed in Raleigh. I've got tickets to it and if Tennessee is there, that would be icing on the cake......
