Georgia coach Dennis Felton figured it was only a matter of time before Vanderbilt started to click offensively Saturday.

His Bulldogs led by one point at halftime in Nashville but he sensed trouble brewing.

"They're one of the best teams in the country primarily because they're one of the best shooting teams in the country," Felton said of the Commodores.

Right on cue, No. 20 Vanderbilt shot 63 percent from the field in the second half and pulled away for an 86-74 victory.

Vanderbilt (23-4, 8-4) extended its winning streak to six games and remained one game behind Kentucky for second place in the SEC East.

Shan Foster scored 29 points Alex Gordon added 23 for the Commodores.

Sundiata Gaines had 24 points for Georgia (12-13, 3-9), which led 38-37 at halftime.

Miss. St. 61, South Carolina 56: Charles Rhodes scored six of his 24 points in overtime to lead the Bulldogs (18-8, 9-3).

The Gamecocks (12-14, 4-8) looked headed to a home win after Evka Baniulis hit the second of two foul shots - his first time at the line all year - to give them a 50-47 with 6.1 seconds to go.

But with 1.1 seconds left Baniulis fouled the Bulldogs' Ben Hansbrough on a 3-point shot. Hansbrough, a 76.7 percent foul shooter, hit all three to send the game into overtime.

South Carolina fell behind early in the extra period, but closed to one with 1:39 left.

Rhodes followed his own miss 25 seconds later and Barry Stewart and Elgin Bailey each hit one of two free throws in the final 34.5 seconds to seal the victory.

LSU 69, Mississippi 49: Marcus Thornton scored 17 to pace the Tigers, damaging the Rebels' hopes of an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament.

Anthony Randolph had 15 points and 11 rebounds for LSU (10-16, 3-9), which won an SEC game at home for the first time in six tries this season.

Ole Miss (18-8, 4-8), has four SEC games remaining against Kentucky, Alabama, Arkansas and Georgia, and may need to win them all to get serious consideration for an at-large NCAA bid.
