The unofficial beginning to the 2009 recruiting season begins Saturday as Tennessee’s hosts its annual junior day.
The Vols are expected to host hundreds of high school junior prospects representing all skill levels. For the prospects, it’s a chance to see UT’s campus first hand. For the Vols, it’s a chance to assess a prospect’s skill level as they participate in a variety of drills.
Junior camps have grown to be a more significant aspect of recruiting in recent years as schools try to sway prospects to take earlier return visits and, subsequently, make earlier commitments.
The Vols will host their annual summer football camp on June 11-13, followed by the senior camp on June 14. UT will also host its passing camp later that month.
