The unofficial beginning to the 2009 recruiting season begins Saturday as Tennessee’s hosts its annual junior day.
The Vols are expected to host hundreds of high school junior prospects representing all skill levels. For the prospects, it’s a chance to see UT’s campus first hand. For the Vols, it’s a chance to assess a prospect’s skill level as they participate in a variety of drills.
Junior camps have grown to be a more significant aspect of recruiting in recent years as schools try to sway prospects to take earlier return visits and, subsequently, make earlier commitments.
The Vols will host their annual summer football camp on June 11-13, followed by the senior camp on June 14. UT will also host its passing camp later that month.

Hooker is so average. He writes this article and does not mention a single name of any kids that we might be recruiting. Even if he might mention someone that is all he would do. He never mentions any specifics or where a player ranks. Dave your recruiting coverage is below par at best. Sorry to be critical, but you can do a better job, you need to do a better job.

Lets see if we can do better recruiting these juniors than we did this years senior class.

Who else could we hire? No one is available, and we'd lose even more business. Heck we had to have a fire Fulmer article to get more business, what will we do now?? Have you guys who post here write the articles??

So...why are you guys over here reading everyday? If I hated a thing I would have nothing to do with it. That is not the case here at KNS I see.

Junior day is this weekend , and here is a little of what Hubbs said."That is a really solid list of quality names who have given an indication that they are coming. Now we will see who all shows up, but that’s a quality list. In fact, it’s one of the most impressive lists that I have seen for a Tennessee junior day, and if they all show up it will be the best ever turnout of talent that I can remember in Knoxville unofficially, especially this early in the game. And the good news for the coaching staff is that it looks like the weather is going to be terrific this weekend".Since D-Line is still a priority, I'll list the ones of note.DE Chris Bonds 6'4 265,DE William Ming 6'4 250,DT Derrick Lott 6'4 265, and DE Sam Montgomery 6'4 220.The surprising thing was ,the only one we haven't offered is Lott the DT.Although(by looking at size,40's etc..)only one looks like a DE,Montgomery. He runs a 4.4 40.All are said to be atleast 4* guys, and have all been offered by the who's who.

Marlon Brown out of Memphis (6'5 205lb 5*receiver and a 5* shooting guard) was in town last week.In an interview he said he visited w/ both BP and CPF.He kinda laughed when talking about BP, and how cool and funny he was. Also said he liked how CPF was laid back.Folks, BP isn't just our b-ball coach, he is also fast becoming one of our best football recruiters. This kid is being recruited by Drayton.
Reposting some stuff I posted a couple of days ago. I know UT has offered atleast 1 5* and 2 4* DT's.Jamarkus McFarland TX,Corey Adams AZ,and Chris Davenport LA.Actually if you go by scout.com McFarland and Davenport are 5*.

ChuckG good points, I'm surprise he didn't mention that the Sun will be rising the next day also.

There's a lot of talent still out there -- I know of one kid who is getting recruited by a number of Div I schools, three of them SEC...outstanding student, very disciplined...but not one word from TN, yet TN is the one school he'd jump at the chance to play for.

Yes, we had an awesome class, but believe me, we were talent deficient before this years class. We have plenty of spots for talented players. Also, this "you had a great class, therfore you can't have another one" doesn't hold water. Florida, USC, Georgia, etc.... have great classes every year. We won't be able to sign 30+, but we will have an awesome class. By the way, William Ming grew up an Alabama fan: Nico Johnson grew up an Alabama fan: A.J. McCarron grew up an Alabama fan.
Maybe these guys don't pick Bama, but Scout.com's Andrew Bone and most others think they will choose Bama. Crazier things have happened though, so good luck.
ROLL TIDE !!!!
