Tennessee junior Carly Mathes has been named Division I National Collegiate Swimmer of the Week by collegeswimming.com.
Mathes contributed a team-high 27 points in Tennessee's 172-128 victory over Indiana on Jan. 18.
Mathes won three individual events, as well as providing the anchor leg for the victorious 400-yard freestyle relay team.
Mathes is the third Lady Vol to receive the National Swimmer of the Week honor this year. Senior Christine Magnuson was selected as the Swimmer of the Week on Nov. 1, while freshman Aleksa Akerfelds was recognized on Jan. 10.
Akerfelds also was named SEC Women's Swimmer of the Week for her winning swims in the 500- and 1,000-yard freestyles against Indiana. She had times of 4:51.53 (500) and 9:52.93 (1,000).
