Whoriskey named SEC Player of the Week

Sophomore Caitlin Whoriskey continued to garner accolades for her stellar performances this past weekend, adding SEC Player of the Week.

The award is the first for Whoriskey and marks the first time that a Lady Vol has picked up the honor since classmate Connor Vogel earned it on Feb. 13, 2007.

For the season, Whoriskey is 6-2 in singles and 15-3 in doubles.

Men's Tennis: J.P. Smith was named SEC Freshman of the Week after advancing to the semifinals of the 2008 SEC Coaches' Indoor Championships this past weekend.

Smith has a 9-6 record with six of those victories coming over ranked opponents.

Tennessee begins its dual-match season today with a doubleheader against Furman and The Citadel at Goodfriend Indoor Tennis Center.

Good thing you put her record in the article because I had no clue what sport she played. I assume that the fact she plays doubles and singles that means she plays tennis?
