Tennessee men’s basketball coach Bruce Pearl said sophomore forward Duke Crews could see action in Saturday’s 7 p.m. game against Georgia.
“Duke did well today in practice; he did better than I expected,’’ Pearl said. “I think Duke has got a chance to play on Saturday.’’
Pearl announced on Jan. 18 that Crews was returning after being sidelined with what was believed to be a dangerous heart condition for more than one month.
At the time, it was thought it would take Crews 10 to 14 days to return to the court.

I thought Pearl might use Crews in the KY game for a minute or so to fire up his own players. I thought it would have been a good ploy. Glad to see he is about ready to go. The inside game looked really weak against KY. Good Luck, Duke and to the VOls at GA.

We need you in the middle, but you need to take care of your health first, and I hope the Docs are right.

Anyone else feel like Pearl is most likely to save Crews' return for a home game? Can you imagine how loud TBA would get when he came in to the game?
mattlock writes:
Saturday's game is at home, so yes, he will make his return at TBA. . .

Crews is what we need, both for team and the crowd. He is a very energetic player and put a fire in the team when playing, good to see him back.

TDTN, Chism goes for rebounds, he just gets out jumped and out hustled.
Did anyone notice the two times Pearl chewed Childress out coming off the floor? I was surprised to see Chil on floor again after each chewing.

TD I think you and me both agree on basketball (unlike football). The only difference is I see Chism having a world of talent but being somwhat soft near the basket. As big as he is, it amazes me that he finishes so weakly at the rim. He has to lead the conference in getting his shots blocked. As for the three point shots, thats just got to stop unless he is wide open or there is less then 4 seconds on the shot clock. One other thing, Chism and others could try setting up two feet inside the 3 point line so when Lofton curls around them after the pick, he is shooting a 20ft shot instead of a 24ft shot.

I hope Crews can finish his shots at the rim unlike Chism who misses alot of layups
