The University of Tennessee men’s golf team is picking up where it left off.
The defending SEC champions led from start to finish to capture the PING-Arizona Intercollegiate tournament in Tucson, Ariz., on Tuesday.
UT fired a 1-under-par 283 to finish at 20-under 832 and beat UNLV by three shots in the 16-team field. UT won the Turtle Bay Intercollegiate in November.
“This was a very fine win against a very fine field,” UT coach Jim Kelson said. “We showed a lot of competitiveness and poise today. It was certainly a team effort, everyone contributed, and everyone played well.”
Junior Chris Paisley shot a 3-under 69 to finish at 8-under 205 and tied for second place overall, seven shots off the lead. The England native has finished in the top 10 in the last three UT events.
Sophomore David Holmes (74) and freshman Robin Wingardh (69) finished tied for 10th at 210.
Philip Pettitt (72) finished 19th at 214 and Charles Ford (73) tied for 21st with a 216.

Must be late.....just glanced at the headline and swore it said we won in ping-pong..... I think it is off to bed for me, I'll be fine!
Than again, some of the things I've read on here, that might not completely suprise me...

Fantastic win. I really like seeing one of Knoxville's own, David Holmes, contributing so much as a sophmore.

What the hell, when are they going to start making SEC champ golf shirts. Hell, I would wear one out here in CA to Sandpiper and Sherwood. Anyone see Tiger play at Sherwood last Dec? I went there and yelled Go Tennessee AFTER three of his puts that I was there to witness. It ruled!
