Defensive lineman Josh Boyd from Philadelphia (Miss.) High School has committed to Mississippi State, according to the Jackson Clarion-Ledger.
Philadelphia head coach Teddy Dyess told the Clarion-Ledger that Boyd was growing tired of the recruiting process.
“I think all the attention and stuff was starting to get to him,” Dyess said. “He wanted to go ahead and commit because he’s very committed to winning a state championship and very committed to his academics.”
The 6-foot-3, 270-pound Boyd chose Mississippi State over Tennessee, Ole Miss, Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Florida State, Michigan and Southern Miss.
Boyd told the News Sentinel in May that he would visit UT this summer but he never made the trip.
