Zander named to All-Sun Bowl team
Former Tennessee linebacker Carl Zander is one of 75 players named to the 75th Anniversary All-Sun Bowl Team, which commemorates the association's diamond anniversary.
The Brut Sun Bowl is the second oldest bowl game and has had more different programs (75) compete in the game than any other bowl.
Tennessee's lone appearance in the bowl ended in a 28-27 loss to Maryland in 1984. Afterwards, Zander earned the Jimmy Rogers Jr. Most Valuable Lineman award for recording 24 tackles in the game.
Zander went on to spend eight years with the NFL's Cincinnati Bengals, including a start in Super Bowl XXIII.
