ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia freshman Jeremy Jacob will transfer after a foot injury limited him to only six games as a freshman.
Georgia coach Dennis Felton said Monday the 6-foot-7 Jacob, from Baton Rouge, La., wants a fresh start at another school “where he can play a more prominent role than he believes he will play at Georgia.”
Jacob averaged 5.2 points and 3.3 rebounds in the first six games of the 2007-08 season before suffering a stress fracture in his left foot. He missed the rest of the season and was granted a medical hardship by the NCAA, leaving him with four years of eligibility.

Can he recruited as a DT for our FB team?
Posted by rockyknox on July 7, 2008 at 5:07 p.m. (Suggest removal)
He should hang around. By the time the season starts he may be one of the few players left who hasn't been kicked off the team.

I guess he noticed the best UGA would ever finish, is 5th in the Eastern Div. of the SEC. Smart call, kid....

Rusty watch out what goes around comes around.....let us not delight in the adversity the players bring on themselves. We have had our share as many of the so called 'VOL' fans have criticized our coaches for lack of institutional control on many occasions. So while the shoe is on the other foot lets watch where we put ours down as we step over the log blindly not knowing if a snake is coiled and waiting or just nice dirt/grass. Nuff said. Hope player learns like alot of us do in life that the grass isn't always as earthsafe/greener on that other side/school.

Felton will be gone after this year. I've always believed he is a good coach that has been victim of circumstances at Athens. But again, winning has to come eventually. I wouldn't be surprised if Alabama, Auburn, and Georgia all make changes at seasons end. That would make 5 teams in two years.

I for one want to see Felton stay for 10 more years at uga. We've beat em like a drum recently. Why change now? Go Denniiiis

In case you missed it Felton got an extension and a raise following the SEC torny win.
As much as a fluke as it was because he would have been fired following the season had that not happened.

Georgia might not win head to head but we won when it mattered. Kinda like football!!!

I look at Felton like Mcbrim1998 looks at Fulmer. May he get a 7 year extension!
B Ball team will never miss any player at Ga.

Joe2724...
Yeah, I guess Georgia really won when it mattered in that College World Series against Fresno State right?? Go brag about your Dawgs to somebody who cares. By the way was Athens even in the running for ESPN's Titletown USA (like Knoxville)?? You can hear all about the Vols tonight on Sportscenter at 11 p.m. because Knoxville made the list of 20 finalists. Knoxville has a few titles. I believe Athens and UGA didn't make the initial top 200 because National Titles in women's Gymnastics and men's Tennis don't matter. Remember the Dawgs AIN'T won jack.

Mark4...
Your city made Titletown because of womens basketball and if you think of any other reason you are on crazy pills. Knoxville can keep titletown and UGA will keep its BCS bowls and top 10 finishes!!!!!

you guys on this board are just so full of hate towards every other SEC school you never can show any fairness at all.
After the Harrick fiasco Ga BB runs a clean program--Felton kicked off the team 4 or 5 of his top players at the very beginning or during the season----he would have won the conference otherwise he was so loaded and showed quite well having lost these guys. When his guys get in trouble they are gone--maybe I'm the only one who can respect such as you other idiots want to claim instead that he cant coach. I give the guy credit for kicking off troublemakers no matter how good they were and sacrificing his season where you other idiots refuse to ever give any credit for anything to another SEC school.

Joe2724, we will keep the absolute thrashings we've been putting on your pups in football and basketball until you do something about it . . .

yabadabadoo - screw Georgia. And that is all I have to say about the subject.

Joe2724....
UGA Football National Titles 5 (12 SEC), Tennessee Football National Titles 6 (13 SEC).
I guess Georgia is always second to Tennessee.

I think the UGA program is going to crumble even worse than it has. Not sure what reason anyone would have to play in Athens. They did surprise in the SEC tourney, so that may help. May have a decent recruiting pool being close to ATL, but I would think there would be other SEC schools to consider if I was a recruit.

If this kid struggles for playing time at GA, God bless him.
