INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana forward and former University of Tennessee star Tamika Catchings, who missed the first eight games of the WNBA season because of an Achilles tendon injury, left Wednesday’s game against Atlanta after reinjuring her right heel.
Catchings had 18 points, 12 rebounds and five assists when she was kicked in the foot with 6:46 left in the fourth quarter during the 81-77 loss.
A recent addition to the U.S. Olympic team, Catchings will undergo further examination for a possible strain of the Achilles’ tendon.
