UT game tickets going on sale

Individual game tickets for four Tennessee home football games – UAB (Sept. 13), Northern Illinois (Oct. 4), Wyoming (Nov. 8) and Kentucky (Nov. 29) – will be available for purchase online at utsports.com, via phone at (800) 332-VOLS and at Thompson-Boling Arena beginning Monday, July 21.

Tickets for Northern Illinois and Wyoming are $40 each plus shipping and handling. Tickets for UAB and Kentucky are $50 each plus shipping and handling.

“Every year we receive tickets back from some of our visiting opponent allotments. We hope that by making these tickets available to our fans in the summer, our fans will have more opportunities to make their football plans,” said Mike Hamilton, men’s athletic director, in a UT sports information office release.

Tennessee has led the SEC in attendance for the past 34 years and has ranked in the top four nationally for 32 consecutive seasons.

The athletic department will also put a limited number of single seat, non renewable season tickets on sale for the 2008 season on July 21. These tickets will be sold for $315 and will only be available for purchase at the Thompson-Boling Arena ticket office or by phone at (800) 332-VOLS.

$50 for UAB???

Lord, $10 for a "pep rally" is a better deal than that.

WorkinLikeHeck writes:

That would be UBA. Foolmore thought that Pearl coached at "Milwaukee-Wisconsin". LOL!!!!!!!!

WorkinLikeHeck writes:

Yeah, can't wait for the field position battle that will ensue vs. UBA. Foolmore will kicking FGs from the VolWalk in that game.

This is a sellers market. . .wait to buy in October.

WorkinLikeHeck writes:

or just save your time and money for when football season is over (should be October) and then wait for basketball season to start (November).

Conference USA is just about the most pathetic football conference in the country. And UAB is expected to be the worst of that embarrassingy bad group.

The beautiful thing about capitalism is if you don't want to pay the price, don't. Maybe the whiners can go pull for Vandy. I hear their tix are cheap.

Sheepscape writes:

If the team pulls the standard Florida brick, you can find tix under rocks.

Waldorf writes:

Don't worry rusty, 08 is my last season to get them.

Had Hamilton not pulled a fast one and waited until after donations were due to announce that ticket prices would increase, I would not have gotten them this year but I didn't want to waste $1,000.

My blood runs orange, but I refuse to support the phooey he and Fulmer have fostered on The Hill any more.

MOOREVOLS writes:

GoshDarn -- where are your seats? If they're better than mine I may take yours next year.

rusty_shackleford writes:

Moore beat me to it, Chuck. There will be folks waiting for your tix.

WorkinLikeHeck writes:

waiting? You can call right now and get season tickets with a donation.

Waldorf writes:

Workin would be correct.

Remind me, at one time wasn't there a waiting list to get tickets?

rusty_shackleford writes:

You can get ANYTHING with enough money....except class.

CoverOrange writes:

Wonder how much ESPN Gameday PPV will be this year.

Waldorf writes:

So rusty, I take it you've tried to buy some before?

rusty_shackleford writes:

Got 'em.

Wyoming, game day morning - name your price.

1138 posts Workin...since the end of march, and I don't recall too many positive ones...you, my friend, are what most people like to call a miserable human being. I feel badly for the people you call a support group because they are doing a terrible job.

CoastGuardVol writes:

I live in Savannah Ga. I gladly will pay the money for the tickets and the gas for the nearly seven hour drive one way to see the VOLS play. I guess you can always find something to complain about when you look for it. Fellas its almost time for football in Tennessee no matter where you watch the game its gonna be good!! Go Vols!!

rusty_shackleford writes:

pd, nice offer but I take my son and I wouldn't pass up that time with him for any amount of money. It won't be long until he begins to carve his own path in this world and will be too busy to go, so I'll enjoy the football season with him by my side.

volboy81#211803 writes:

would all non-Vol fans please go to your own teams website and post your worthless thoughts there please.

Rusty, you will never regret time spent with family and real friends. If all parents would bond that way with their children we would see a more responsible generation in the makeing.

rusty_shackleford writes:

Bowler, the days are slow but the years are fast. It seems like just last season that I took him to his first game....10 years ago! Thankfully he cherishes those trips as much as I do. I'm not looking forward to the day he tells me I'm bumped out of the seat by his sweetie. ;-)

pdhuff#552644 writes:

rusty- my son, now a ME in Nashville saw his first game at 6. Still loves them today. They will grow up fast.

Geezers still buy ducats, as Gen W said, usually dirt cheap in the two hours before kickoff.

vol1994 writes:

It is amazing all the complaining about the ticket prices. If you feel they are too high then do NOT go to the game!!!

UT tickets are still cheaper than some other universities like Ohio State, Florida, etc.

It is true that there is NOT a waiting list now but at one time 7 years ago there was a waiting list. I can't remember what year it was but UT changed some of the requirments stating most had to make an annual donation. Some folks were grandfathered in but most must now make an annual donation. As a result, some decided to give up their tickets but we still sell out every game for the most part!!

newtonrail writes:

Unbelievable. The whiners stay on here, and 95% of you don't even go to the games. Yes, you might find a lesser game for $5, 5" before game. Personally I want to be in the Stadium to watch teams warm up, and not come in at end of 1rst Quarter. And yes, there is still a waiting list for season tickets. If you had read the story, it said a limited number of "Single seat" Season tickets. There was one of those in front of my seats a couple of years ago.

Still in the #1 position, Nafslov. Nice.
