Fans invited to UT banquet

Knox County UT Alumni Chapter is hosting the inaugural Knox County All-Sports Banquet on Aug. 21 at Thompson-Boling Arena.

Scheduled to attend the event include UT football coach Phillip Fulmer, UT basketball coach Bruce Pearl and other UT coaches and staff members. The event replaces the Knox County UT Alumni Chapter’s Welcome Back Barbecue.

“This is going to be a great time for Vol fans and families to come out and meet the coaches of the University of Tennessee,” said Knox County chapter president Robert Schwalb. “For those who remember the Welcome Back Barbecue, the set-up of the Banquet will be much similar however this year the Knox County Alumni Chapter will be kicking off the season for all-sports at the University of Tennessee.”

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and the program will begin at 6:30. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children, which includes barbecue from Calhoun’s. The deadline for pre-registration is Aug. 15. After Aug. 15 the price goes up to $17 for adults and $12 for children. All UT students can attend for $10. Students must show their student ID’s at the door.

Parking will be available in G-10 and C-6 parking areas.
