Brewer is perfect for U.S. in rout

BUENOS ARIES, Argentina — The United States crushed winless Puerto Rico 116-36 to improve to 3-0 in the FIBA Americas U18 Championship in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Tennessee freshman Alyssia Brewer scored nine points on 4-of-4 shooting and had 11 rebounds in 14 minutes of play.

"We did a good job doing the small things tonight, getting up and down the court and hitting the floor after loose balls," said Brewer. "We moved the ball well and found the open people."

Shekinna Stricklen, another UT freshman, scored 4 points on 2-of-6 shooting and pulled down 5 rebounds in 13 minutes.

The U.S. plays Brazil (2-1) today.
