I am really surprised by Tatum!!
He is gonna be a great player here in the coming season!!
I know it is a "summer league" but still!!

How about Josh Tabb?

Tatum was good early last year before he got hurt, you could tell he was special. I expect good things from this kid. His defense isn't bad either.

This league really doesn't matter. It's great to see the players dunk but how realistic can it be? Duke Crews led the league in scoring last year. What a joke.

Good post Butch and TooLegit......Obivously all but 2 or 3 guys that got serious PT for UT last year could use this league. We had few players that could create their own shots in a one on one setting. Not necessary to have a solid team but its always nice to have players that can do that. On Tatum, yes what little he played last year you could see he has amazing talent on offense and solid on defense. Can't wait to see him this year on the floor.

When I was playing basketball in the 1950's, I was recruited heavily by the University of Cincinnati and UCLA. I could have had my pick to play with Oscar Robertson or Bill Walton. My friends...I chose neither. I chose to play in the now defunct league called..the Rockey Over the Top League.
I once had a breakaway dunk and in my rearview I saw the likes of Bill Russell heading my way. I shook left, I shook right...and I flew in the air. I missed the entire goal and was mangled/tackled by Russell. Moral of the Story: Rocky Top Will Always Be Home Sweet Home To Me and not the likes of Bill Russell, Oscar Robertson, and quick like a cat Bill Walton.

Like to see this offensive show in the SEC next season. Starting 5 had 160 last night and 28 from Tabb off the bench. This is a fun league to watch and a great marketing tool for a sport we have gone so long without! Bruce is a BB guru!

It's ridiculous for people to say that these games and this summer league play "doesn't matter". No it's not an SEC game, but the challenge that players place on themselves to get better and "play," not run plays but play and allow their game to develop with players from other areas is a valuable asset to a player. Sure they have some fun on the court too, but isn't that what playing sports is about as well?

I saw that Eryk Watson of Maryville had 3 in 1st Tennessee's first game and 9 last night. Can somebody tell me how he looks out there? He's a great kid. A big thanks from a Vol stuck in Georgia.
