Megan Rhodes keeps making news for the Tennessee Lady Vols' softball team.
The senior pitcher has been selected as one of 30 Division I candidates for the 2008 Lowe's Senior CLASS Softball Award, given to the player who most excels on and off the field.
Rhodes is off to an 8-0 start with a 1.21 ERA for the No. 4-ranked Lady Vols. She has two shutouts, two two-hitters, a one-hitter and 72 strikeouts in 58 innings.
The Nashville native also has three saves to lead the SEC. For her career, the 5-foot7 right hander is 52-11 with a 1.47 ERA and 565 strikeouts.
Arizona's Caitlin Lowe was the 2007 award winner.
The current field of 30 candidates will be trimmed to 10 in late March.
