Tennessee men’s coach Pearl and two of his players were honored Tuesday by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association. Pearl was named District IV coach of the year; Chris Lofton and Tyler Smith were named tot the All-District IV team. The district includes Tennessee, Kentucky, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Florida.
Chris Douglas-Roberts of Memphis is the district player of the year: The other members of the all-district team are: Derrick Rose (Memphis); Ramel Bradley (Kentucky); Shan Foster (Vanderbilt); Jamont Gordon (Mississippi State); Richard Hendrix (Alabama); David Padgett (Louisville); Robert Vaden (UAB).
