UT men's golf team finishes fourth

The No. 9 Tennessee men's golf team shot a 6-over-par 294 in the final round and finished fourth Sunday at the 26th annual Scheknel E-Z-Go Invitational in Statesboro, Ga.
The Vols totaled 1-over 865 in the 18-team tournament at Forest Heights Country Club. Alabama won by seven shots at 849.
UT has recorded eight top-10 finishes this season, including finishing no lower than fourth this spring.
UT's Philip Pettitt (72) and Robin Wingardh (73) tied for 13th at even 216.
Also for the Vols, David Holmes (75) tied for 18th at 217, Charlie Ford (76) tied for 40th at 221 and Chris Paisley (74) tied for 44th at 222.
Women's Tennis: The No. 20 UT women's tennis team was unable to overcome No. 13 Duke (9-1) late Saturday, falling 5-2 in Honolulu.
Sophomore Caitlin Whoriskey and freshman Rosalia Alda won singles matches for the Lady Vols (9-4). The doubles team of Ghizela Schutte and Alda defeated Ellah Nze and Reka Zsilinszka, 8-6,
Women's Diving: Senior Vicky Linnell of the Lady Vols finished 12th at the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships in Auburn, Ala., and did not advance to the NCAA championships. Linnell had 445.55 points over 10 dives. She was eighth after her five dives.
Men's Diving: UT senior Ryan Rincon was ninth in the platform competition at the Zone B Diving Championships with 326.65 points.
Chris Davis (277.60) and Michael Muscari (260.65) finished 16th and 17th, respectively.
