This shows the mentality of the local media and is a cause for the lack of respect other media types have for us. The others apparently BELIEVE the stuff the locals put out. The others, in turn spew the garbage to their group and apparently some BELIEVE them with a net result that we get no respect elsewhere.
I am in favor of sending the entire media group anywhere else, just so they're gone.

Due to lack of defense I see the men stalling at the sweet sixteen. Of course I want them to go further but I just don't think they will.

The Ladies make it to the Final Four every year. Nothing new there.

But this is really an unfair poll. No disrespect to the Ladies game but the talent gap between the top programs and the lower seeded teams is too big. Early round upsets are rare and the games aren't even close until the elite eight.

In the men's touney we'll start seeing the parody by round 2. Upsets are common. The Big boys usually come out on top but the margins of victory are slimmer.

BillVol - the truth? Hmmm, we'll let that slide with a smile & nod. His opinion, yes. But yea, as long as it brings in the $$$, he won't go anywhere unless he wants to, unfortunately.

And yes, this poll stinks, why not go up to a married guy who has his wife standing next to him and ask him, which one do you have passion for - tennessee football or your wife?

cdldoc, here's another poll for you:

1 - cdldoc is really a 12 year old girl that cries when someone disagrees with her

2 - cdldoc is really a 43 year old married woman who, when someone does (or writes) something they probably shouldn't have, she refuses to drop it and keeps ranting about it and bringing it up months after the fact

3 - cdldoc is John Adams and is just trying to stir the pot by continuously bringing up his own name, commenting on his columns, which in turn continues to keep his popularity at an all-time high (ya know, the old "negative publicity is better than no publicity" deal)

I'm gonna go with #2 just because you're obviously not smart enough to pull off #3, and if it's #1 that would make me feel too bad about punking you just now.

This poll does not make a bit of sense. We are talking about two different sports that cannot be compared. I don't know why we are always having to create competition between these two sports. Of course the girls will probably go further than the men. Their level of competition is not even close to what it is in the men's tournament. Please stop comparing apples to oranges!

OK, JOhn Adams makes a "blip" every now and again. In his defense, he is actually a very good and normally unbiased sportswriter. I will tell you he adds up to a better one than all four in Atlanta could ever muster. Mark Bradley is the closest thing we have to a writer down here and even his bias (particularly towards the Vols) clouds his writing much of the time. Cut John a break.

Yemmus, You and Adams both share one common attribute, neither of you are as smart as a 43 year old married woman.

I'm also pretty sure that you both were the last ones chose for a make up game, even if it was nothing more than hop scotch.

Where Adams has you beat is he makes a decent living writing, and you make yourself a fool with your writing.

I agree this is a dumb poll. Everyone that watches basketball anywhere in the nation would pick the lady vols. I do however expect both teams to go deep in the TOurney, and if one doesn't, I'm not gonna give my season tickets away.

There isn't away to drive a wedge between these programs, simply because CBP & CPS are definetly the best coaching duo in College Basketball.

John Adams is like Al Sharpton or Fox News: He makes outrageous statements that no one pays any attention to except to lampoon him. How incredibly dull would govolsxtra.com be without some idiot acting as a lightning rod for the rest of the sports reporting staff. Thanks to Adams, when Pennington says something like "Our secondary is young and will need a lot of work to compete in the SEC" people say, "Well, he's not Adams, so maybe there's some truth to what he's saying."
