PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Cedrick Wilson has been charged with assaulting his estranged girlfriend at a suburban restaurant Wednesday night.
A police criminal complaint said the former University of Tennessee player entered Patron Mexican Grill in Pine Township shortly before 8 p.m. and saw Lindsey Paulat sitting at the bar. Authorities allege that he pushed her on the shoulder and then punched her in the face.
In January, Wilson and Paulat were involved in a fight at Wilson's home that ended with her holding police at bay for several hours.
Wilson had obtained a protection-from-abuse order against her after Paulat was charged with firing two shots in the player's home. Paulat is the mother of Wilson's 14-month-old child.
Authorities say Wilson, 29, was in the Allegheny County Jail on Wednesday night awaiting arraignment on charges of simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct.
A message left with the answering service of Wilson's attorney, Paul Goltz, was not immediately returned Wednesday night.

Coach Fulmer, it looks like you screwed up again. John Adams will be hitting the road with this update to his road speech. How could we not be able to control these guys even after they have left us (early BTW) and moved on to the pros? Simply a lack of control. Something has to be done. Fire Fulmer and hire John Adams as HC, he knows all.

LargeOrange that's funny! All jokes aside.. He punched her! WOW! I know she could've done some deep seeded crap to boil him to that point, but he actually seeked her out and punched her! What a punk! I don't care what's going on I was always taught never to hit women! If the crap's that bad all you have to do is just freaking leave or kick her out!! He's an NFL player for crying out loud! A punch from him should've done some pretty bad damage!

Things aren't always as they appear. You all might want to wait to hear some details before casting judgment. I'll bet $100 to your $1 that she charged at him and it was in defense. It's way too easy for women to ruin a guy's reputation/life with garbage in this country, especially professional athletes.

Stay the course Cedric!

As a county music song goes...it's cheaper to keep her.
All joking aside, this is obviously unfortunate and inexcusible, but hardly newsworthy.

On a sid note:
Who was it that said they had inside info about Travis Henery getting caught for drug trafficing? Whatever came of that, cause that was weeks ago and I haven't heard squat?

The dastardly Phillip Fulmer is behind this one.
Pound those fritters.
Stay the course.

DA4BigOrange - She may have charged at him, but he still went looking for her and punched her in the face! Does your name mean that you are a District Attorney? If so then you should know of all people that him going to look for her is a big freaking difference than if they were both at home fighting! He could've let it go and instead decided to go and look for her! She'll own him!

This just in. After bailing Cedric out of jail, Lindsey took him home, made him a sandwich, and ironed his clothes for the next day. Fulmer showed up and had a group hug with the dysfunctional family and apologized for not being there. John Adams was no where in site, but a shaddowy figure was seen leaving the scene with a "Feinbaum Rules" t-shirt on.

This should be on the front page or in the news section, not the sports page. Donkey Adams is at it again. Donkey, leave town.

burntorangeVOLffle,
I remember that. It was about 1 1/2 months ago and it was Travis Stephens not Henry. I forget the joker who threw that down though. I am glad it was not true and still wonder why he never got a good shot in the NFL

SI.com is reporting that it was actually John Adams in a Cedric Wilson mask.
In all seriousness... Cedrick probably shouldn't be hangin with this girl anymore and vice versa. When guns, police standoffs, suicide threats, and domestic violence at Mexican restaurants all get together... it is probably not an enduring relationship.

I can only think of a few instances when it is ok to hit a woman.

This is the last straw. I now agree with Adams that Fulmer must go. Incidents like this show a lack of institutional control. I bet if Wilson had to run windsprints at midnight he wouldn't have time to beat the crap out of his girlfriend at a Mexican restaurant. Its time for Fulmer to leave or simply take control of amuni affairs and put an end to this nonsense.

Ah, yes, love is in the air. This couple wins the "You so crazy, honey" award. They may not be married, but I'd love to see them make an appearance on The Newlywed Game. That would be like watching a cross between The Dating Game and The Jerry Springer Show.

We are so fortunate to have Coach Fulmer over our young men. Ced keep it real Bro.

The truth is dfreeman is that you don't hit women because you are scared of them. Looking at your skinny arms I can understand why. You probably tell everyone your a lover and not a fighter.

c'mon cedrick, if your going to beat your woman, at least try to create a false sense of well-being and do that stuff in your own home like a lot of bible-belt southerners, lol

Sounds to me like she was a drunk girlfriend not taking care of her responsibilities - not that she deserved a punch - but obviously now that she has sobered up and her "friends" aren't around she wants to make sure she can still receive a good paycheck.
