At least Louisville will have just as difficult a time trying to get tickets as we are. No disgustingly unfair advantage this round. The Elite Eight OTOH . . .

There should be a 100 mile rule. No tourney games within 100 miles of your home court. Either that or go back to top seeds hosting first weekend so all advanteges are the same. It's ridiculous to give one team that much of an advantage these days.

Good Luck to the Vols, I hope they are able to earn a spot in the Final Four.

Hotlanta...stop whinin'...NC would still be in Charlotte under your "rule"...Chapel Hill is more than 100 miles from Charlotte.

I paid alot for 2 pairs on Ebay, but I think it's worth it. I mean, this special season could be historic. StubHub is worse than outrageous with the asking prices.

175-300 ON STUBHUB FOR CRAPPY TICKETS

HotlantaVol writes:

THE_VOL - Maybe so but this past weekend was in Raleigh, less than 100 miles. Four of six rounds in your home state shows favoritism. Every year there is at least one weekend of the tourney in NC to benefit either UNC or Duke. Not whining. Just facts.

Charlotte can't be any worse than Memphis, and we won there on one of the most charged basketball evenings I have ever experienced. It will look that much better when we beat Louisville and then NC on their "home" court. Go Vols!

Here's an analysis that I did regarding TN and UL.

Below is a comparison of the overall rivals.com ranking of the seven players who play the most minutes on each team.

I also analyze the overall team ranking by adding the rankings of all the players.

I'm not stupid enough to think that this is a logical way of picking a game, but I thought some of you might find it interesting.

It's funny that Lofton and JuJuan are the best players on our team, yet were the lowest recruited out of high school (BTW, I assigned walk-ons an automatic score of 500; Luckily both teams only had an equal amount).

*LOWER IS BETTER*
TN
--------------------------------------------
W Chism recruited @ #34 **** Forward

T Smith recruited @ #43 **** Forward

C Lofton recruited @ #146 *** Guard

J Smith recruited @ #500??? 0* Guard

R. Smith recruited @ #20 ***** Guard

D. Crews recruited @ #26 ***** Forward

JP. Prince recruited @ #21 ***** Guard

TENNESSEE SCORES A 790

UL
----------------------------------------
T. Williams recruited @ #111 *** Forward

J. Smith recruited @ #82 **** Guard

J. Palacios recruited @ #30 ***** Forward

E. Clark recruited @ #22 ***** Forward

D. Padgett recruited @ #500 0* Center

E. Sosa recruited @ #74 **** Guard

A. Mcgee recruited @ #107 *** Guard

LOUISVILLE SCORES A 926

If we go by this, TN should win by approximately 13 points.

The only matchup that doesn't work in our favor is at Forward, where Louisville has two ***** players.

GO VOLS!!!

nast to show you how stupid those rankings are, Padgett is their best player and he is a one star. Lets face it, rankings are for entertainment purposes only when it comes to basketball and football. You cannot rank heart, desire and how the player fits the needs of the team recruiting him.

nastyman writes:

Ironcity,

Yeah I realize that. That's why I addressed that I wasn't stupid enough to think it was a good measure.

It's for entertainment and you would know that if you read the whole post.

Hotlanta, I get your point without the use of GPS, and agree. It more about ticket sales than it is about what's fair. By the way, UNC is already engraved on the NCAA trophy...I'm surprised you missed that.

skroutyboy writes:

Folks, if you're coming in early, I received an e-mail from the Charlotte alumni group stating practice was open on Wednesday from 12-4 for spectators.

westkyvolfan writes:

UNC hasn't got past Washington State, yet. If we beat U of L MAYBE we'll get to play WSU instead of UNC.

Go Wash State.

scott_m99 writes:

Check out craigslist if you need tickets...I went to Charlotte's page and was able to find 2 tickets for just over face value ($170) for Thursday night session. The guy happened to be a Duke fan that was getting rid of his b/c they didn't get selected for the east bracket. Wouldn't have mattered anyway since they lost over the weekend...but you may find that a lot of the locals here in Raleigh and Charlotte are willing to part with their tickets for cheap.

stevefrommemphis writes:

Attention: VOL FANS HEADED TO CHARLOTTE WITHOUT TICKETS... Last week when I attended the Saturday session of the ACC Tournament, the Charlotte Arena scanned the bar code, but did not tear, tickets. Fans told me that on Friday night after the first game, fans leaving the first game were reselling or giving away already scanned tickets on the street for the second Friday night game. Those tickets were not honored, because they had already been scanned. Since Tennessee is playing the second game Thursday night, the same situation may surface for UT fans. Be careful!

what time does the team practice tomorrow?

It wouldnt be March Madness without precious "Duke and Carolina" getting all the home courts and all the home cooking! Heaven forbid anyone else get to play near their campus!
