Signee Morgan granted release from LSU

BATON ROUGE, La. — J’Mison Morgan will not play basketball for Louisiana State University.

Coach Trent Johnson said Tuesday that he had granted Morgan, who played at South Oak Cliff High School in Texas, a release from the letter of intent Morgan had signed in November.

Morgan’s mother, Bianca Morgan, said her son, a 6-foot-10, 275-pound center, will go to UCLA.

She said Morgan wanted to do something different in light of changes in the LSU program.

Morgan was recruited by former LSU coach John Brady, who was fired midway through last season, and assistant Butch Pierre, who served as interim coach for the rest of the season.

Johnson, in a statement released by LSU, said: “The bottom line with me will always be that I want players here who want to play for LSU. There is some closure with this decision, but no player will ever be bigger than the program.”

Sweet...if we can't sign him, stay out of the SEC. Go as far west as possible.

That was a bonehead move by A.D. Skip Bertman at LSU. I still can't believe he got rid of Brady. Skip Bertman was a joke as an A.D. at LSU and he really tarnished his reputation there. Notice he retired not long after the firing of John Brady. Most LSU fans couldn't stand him once he became the A.D. He was a hell of a baseball coach but as an A.D. he made some of the dumbest moves possible. This firing of John Brady being one of them. Bertman is an idiot, ask a Tiger fan and they will say the same thing.

Even Bruce Pearl said the Brady firing made no sense.

CBP, stood up for Brady, despite what LSU had treated the Vols players badly

Dang. This gives Adams a reason to write another anti-Fulmer article.

LSU's loss is our gain....both for UT and for UCLA...sometimes it does pay to get out of bed.

Isnt it a bad thing when another coach from your same conference comes out in support of your coach.Everyone in the conference supported Wade and Buzz also.
