Tennessee finally found another victory Tuesday, beating Furman 4-2 at Greenville, S.C.
The victory ends a nine-game losing streak, that including a 0-3 showing against Kentucky last weekend.
Second baseman Danny Lima had two hits and drove in a run. Starting pitcher Joey Rosa (4-2) got the win with relief help from Steve Crnkovich and Danny Wiltz.
The Vols hope better times continue when they close the SEC regular season with a three game series at Columbia, S.C., this weekend.
Lima drove in the game's first run Tuesday with a single that sent home Shawn Griffin in the second inning.
The Vols (26-27) added three more in the fifth. Pitch-hitter Jarred Frazier drove in two runs when Furman third baseman Brian Harrison couldn't handle his hot grounder.
Frazier came home on Josh Liles' double.
Rosa had six strikeouts, but left in the sixth after giving up a home run to Bobby Hubbard. Crnkovich worked two scoreless innings of relief. Wiltz pitched the final two innings to collect his fourth save.

Vol4Jesus-- is Dylan Hochevar that good? I certainly hope so.
I would say Todd Raleigh's first year has been a disappointment, but it hasn't-- it has been about what I expected.
College baseball is strange, though-- you don't want to fill your roster with the BEST players, because they all go pro before college (or leave after a year or two). I guess you really want to stock your roster with a bunch of pretty good players that can never make it in the pros (and ones that make good grades), and then try your best to recruit one or two great players every single year.
Delmonico's record here looks pretty good right now.

We got off to a fast start beating Texas and looking pretty good only to falter late in the season, but all in all, this season has been a success. We were picked to be one of if not the worst team in the entire SEC and we battled until the next to last weekend to make the tournament something that no "experts" thought would remotely happen. This team was inconsistent and I worried at times that they look like they weren't given 100% effort, but I think given time Raleigh will do a good job here. He had a very young team with most of the key parts being frosh or sophs, but with guys like Kentrall Davis in the OF, we will get better.

spam247buster - if a player decides to play college baseball, they are not eligible to go pro until after their third year, just like in football. But you are right about the good ones going pro out of high school, b/c if you offer all your scholarships to players that decide to go pro, then you're in trouble. Just like a couple years ago when we had the number one projected recruiting class, and Don Mattingly's son and a couple of pitchers went pro out of high school.

are we out of the SEC tournament or do we still have a chance of making it?

Hopson -
Not necessarily. You can go to JUCO route and go pro after your first or secon d year.
volboy - They are mathmatically still alive, but I wouldn't bet on them making it.
I thought for sure that our loudon friend would show up today. I guess since they won he had to go back to offer for sacrifices at the Delmonico shrine to make sure we don't make it in this weekend.

The real test is South Carolina, let's not get too hasty with all this "we're back" optimism. Losing to Furman would have been as big of a disappointment as losing to ETSU or...W.Car. or...Belmont or.... MTSU ( do I need to go on?). These are supposed to be the easy ones.
