COLUMBIA, S.C. — New South Carolina coach Dawn Staley announced her coaching staff Tuesday and it had a definite Orange tint.
Carla McGhee and Nikki McCray, both former Lady Vols, were named to the staff along with Lisa Boyer, her assistant at Temple.
Boyer was on Staley’s staff at Temple the last six seasons. McGhee coached with Staley in 2003-04 before moving to Auburn. McCray played with Staley on two gold-medal winning U.S. Olympic teams and was an assistant at Western Kentucky the past two years.
McGhee last played at UT in 1990 and McCray in 1995.
Staley was hired to take over for Susan Walvius, who resigned last month after 11 seasons with the Gamecocks. Staley served as Temple’s head coach for eight seasons before accepting South Carolina’s job earlier this month.

What happened to Michelle Marciniak who was on the SC staff?

I wish them all the best except when they are playing against the Lady Vols. We have many assistants and coaches that can be traced back to UT. That speaks well of Pat and staff.Go Vols

I have the same question. Where is Michelle?

I assume Michelle wasn't retained by Staley.

It's all part of the conspiracy for the Lady Vols to take over the world!! :)

Staley made a clever move with those SEC savvy acquisitions. I say look out for SC in the future. The competition has jumped to the higher level. As if the conference wasn't killer enough...

Not too worried about SC, ESPN has our recruiting class at #1. Greaseball at #2.
Congrats, ladies on your new positions.

Props to Carla and Nikki but it'll be a tough row to hoe for Staley and her staff.
Jordan Jones, who set a USC freshman record with 97 3-pointers, and led the team in scoring is the third member of the Gamecocks’ nationally ranked 2006-07 recruiting class no longer with the team. Freshman guards Ashlie Billingslea and Jasmine Payne were dismissed from the university last month following their arrests on drug and credit card fraud charges. Gamecocks signee Becky Burke was released from her letter of intent Wednesday; a 5-foot-11 guard who was the Class 4A Player of the Year in Pennsylvania, averaged 25.7 points per game as a senior at Abington Heights High. The reason that Burke bailed is because she was recruited by fellow Pennsylvanian... Spinderella. Michelle is out of a job right now but I'm certain that she'll have something in a couple of weeks.
