A regular-season title in basketball and strong showings in football and tennis boosted Tennessee’s men to the SEC All-Sports Trophy, UT announced Tuesday.
Bruce Pearl’s basketball team claimed UT’s first regular-season title since the Vols shared the 2000 title. Football won the Eastern Division and tennis tied for second place.
The Vols earned 64.5 points, one ahead of Florida.
Florida won the women’s title, with Tennessee finishing fourth.
The trophy awards points based on order of finish within conference competitions. Regular season is used for baseball, basketball and tennis. The SEC Championship game decides football.
Championship meets or tournaments decide cross country, golf, swimming and diving, and track and field.
