Addy, Berry receive SEC track honors

Tennessee Vols Joseph Berry and Jangy Addy both have received SEC postseason awards for track and field.

Berry was named freshman of the year. He became the first freshman since 1997 to win the SEC pole vault, clearing 17 feet, 2¾ inches at the conference meet last week in Auburn, Ala. The vault is the best in the conference this year and ranks fourth in the Mideast Region. Berry, has won the pole vault at four consecutive meets.

Addy, a team captain, was honored as scholar athlete of the year. Addy, who won the decathlon at the conference meet, has a 3.56 grade point average in journalism and electronic media.
