Tennessee's Annie Alexander added SEC female outdoor freshman field events athlete of the year honors to the same indoor distinction she garnered earlier. Alexander, from Port of Spain, Trinidad, recently won both the shot put and discus at the SEC outdoor meet.
Senior Sarah Bowman was named SEC female scholar-athlete of the year. Bowman has a 3.85 grade average in human resources management.
Alexander and Bowman were named first-team All-SEC outdoors. Shanna Dickenson was named second team in the hammer throw. Alexander, Brittany Sheffey and Jeneba Tarmoh were named to the All-Freshman team.
The Lady Vols compete Friday and Saturday in the NCAA Mideast Regional meet at Fayetteville, Ark.
