Tennessee Lady Vols signee Chanelle Price has been named USA Track & Field’s Athlete of the Week after breaking a national record in the 800 meters Saturday at the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletics Association Track and Field Championships in Shippensburg, Pa.
Price, a senior at Easton High School, won the race in 2 minuts, 2.9 seconds to finish 10 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. She broke the record set by former Lady Vols standout Joetta Clark-Diggs at 2:04.50.
The time, which would rank her third in the NCAA Division I ranks, also was fast enough to earn a “B” qualifier for the 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials.

I don't think she would appreciate being called a "broad" but she is fast. Probably could do the job.

KNS,
A little clarification on this article would be nice. You say she broke a national record, but also say that with that time, she ranks third in the NCAA Division I ranks. I understand (I think) that this means that number one and two are foreign born, but it is not easy to decipher. Also, is this a national record for this year only, or is it the best in history for the US?
Thanks.
