At least Fulmer's last game will be a night game. I love the night games but this one is going to be cold and probably ugly.

Surprising. I was curious if even Raycom would touch this game....

If Crompton plays the cheerleaders better be wearing helmets.

I'm really surprised this is on considering all the rivalry games that weekend. Fla/Fla St, SC/Clemson, LSU/Ark, Ole Miss/Miss St. Not to mention other conferences.

As tough as I have been on Phil, I am glad this is on TV. I hope the players get their heads out of their collective rear ends and win these last 2.

ESPN wants everyone to see the win streak against Kentucky come to an end.

The sad thing is, a UT team has never lost 8 games and that will be our 9th loss. The 23 game(?) win streak over UK will also come to and end. Oh well, except for 2 bad years we have had a lot to cheer about since 1985.

Fla/Fl State and SC/Clemson are ACC home games and will be on ABC, ESPN or the ACC Raycom affiliate. LSU/Arkansas and Ole Miss/Miss St are on the Friday after Thanksgiving.

murrayvol writes:

If Vandy wins (probable) this weekend and UK is up by 14 (also probable) midway thru the 3rd in a lackluster game, I'm trying to imagine the pall that will envelop Neyland Stadium at that point.

We're in for a painful 11 days.

How bout you guys laying off Crompton, he's a kid. I'm sure there is no one hurting more than he is about the way he's played. His dream as kid was to play at Tennessee.

As far as Fulmer, yall got your wish, he's been fired. At least show him some respect, the reason you guys are raising hell, is because he is the one that set the bar so high at Tennessee to begin with.

Here's how to imagine/picture it...The fans slowly proceeding out of the Neyland like "Pall"bearers.

Saturday night after Thanksgiving. There won't be 1,000 people come in from more than 75 miles away. Attendance if the weather is bad: 35,000.

Remember the old days, after the 1983 game vs Ole Miss when cold winds sent most people home at halftime, when season ticket holders were promised that there would NOT EVER be any more November night games?

Can't the SEC at least get written into the contract -- no night games the last two weeks of November ?

How long before the networks start dictating at the last minute that the date of games be changed?

At least if I go to the game, the interstate will be empty for the midnight drive home.

Are you FRICKIN' kidding me! ESPN2??? Isn't their a Harvard vs Yale game to televise or something?

The Volunteers will win the game by a score of 6 to 3 and the 25,000 fans in attendance will give Fulmer a standing Ovation as Rocky Top plays in the background. All of us true Gators will hate to see Phil Fulmer leave.

Major_Magilicutty writes:

I'd lay off Crompton if the kid showed some kind of sign that he existed in the same plane of reality as the rest of us. Seriously, each game the kid's played in, "we were the better team on the field and we did pretty good overall." C'mon, the guy doesnt even realize he sucks as bad as he does. If you cant see what's in front of you, you deserve the criticism; much like a certain coaching staff I know.

I guess Harvard v. Yale is on ESPN U. Academics, you know!

ESPN wants the nation to see one heck of a celebration.

I also heard that they are putting in a "kill switch" in every ball so that when Crompton throws it will immediately fall harmless before hitting the small kids in rows 25 -30.

No kidding! The view of a half-full Neyland Stadium freezing in the dark while losing our first game to UK in over 30 years will be just the thing to cause prospective coaches and recruits to jump right on this bandwagon(;-P)! Could our national humiliation be any more complete?

You can bet that espn will not be throwing jabs at Fulmer on this nite. All their jabs will be at the University and the fans of UT. They know what Fulmer's record is over the last 8 years. They have been on him as hard as most on here. On Fulmer's last game they will say how stupid the University and fans are for letting Fulmer go. espn=cowards who can't pick which side of the fence to get on and stay.

Great line...wish I'd thought of it first.
I think the "kill switch" is already in every ball Crompton throws on the field.

I just saw a re-air of talkin' football from Sunday night. Of course "T" was on {Tee Martin}. He said all depends on the new coach but he wants to coach at UT,maybe a position coach, or recruiter! I thought theres our QB coach. Anyone else see that?

gohawks1 writes:

I swear I thought they were talking about the basketball game. I never dreamed someone would televise this one.

Guess we'll get to see Custer's last stand.

lomas98 writes:

My memory of this series in detail goes back to 1993. I can never remember a game time later than 3:30. I would say 95% of the time this series is played at 12:30. That will be a cold night in Knoxville.

Titan writes:

OK Bama987 - since you chose to come on our board to have some fun. I'm sure everyone down there is glad to see him go too. You can only hope that our next coach doesn't have the kind of success against the Tide that the crying coach did. You do remember the Tide's futility against him don't you?

straightshooter writes:

This likely will be real embarrassing for UT! It may turn off what recruits they still have left at that point!

Another nationally televised butt-whippin'! We are soooo lucky. UK will break the streak and send Phil packing. No matter what happens next year, it honestly can't get any worse. We may as well be 0-12 for the 3 teams we beat this year. What a disaster!
