Lady Vols open NCAA tournament at Clemson

The Tennessee volleyball team will play Clemson in the first round of the NCAA volleyball tournament, which runs Thursday through Sunday.

The Lady Vols (22-9) and Clemson (22-9) will play Friday at Clemson's Jervey Gym, along with Furman (21-13) and Utah (24-5), the tournament No. 12 seed.

The winner of the second-round match will advance to the University Park, Pa., regional, with the finals of the tournament being held Dec. 18-20 in Omaha, Neb.

Tennessee Tech (19-12) also got a bid to the tournament and will play No. 16 seed Tulane (27-5) at Penn State.
