Nyshier Oliver, who committed to Tennessee last June, but reconsidered two months later, told Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis Tuesday night he would play for the Irish.
Oliver, who plays at Saint Peter's Prep in Jersey City, N.J., listed the Vols, Notre Dame, Wake Forest, Maryland and Michigan among his finalists.
The 5-foot-11, 185-pound Oliver projects as a slot receiver.
Oliver’s father told the News Sentinel in August that his son’s early commitment left him confused with the recruiting process, which can happen to any prospect.
“A lot of people fail to realize they’re only teenagers,” Theodore Oliver said. “Sometimes they’re very indecisive. Certain players just need time.”

It's pretty bad when Flubber loses a recruit to a loser like Weis. But then again, haven't we been losing recruits at a supersonic pace? Can Ya smell what the Phil is cookin? Turd sandwich!

I guess this kid heard that the fans were booing here.
It had nothing to do with the absolute horrible play and coaching we have seen this year.

Great Job Fulmer.....you lost another one. This is becoming a theme with you lose a game, lose a recruit, lose a game, lose a recruit, lose a game, lose a recruit. When is it going to end?
Outdors21 writes:
This is just the beginning. I wouldnt be surprised to see 7-10 more 'commits' open up their recruiting...possibly by the Bama game.

Good luck at Notre Dame. One of the few teams worse than us. I wonder if they told him who the new coach would be at Notre Dame next year.
MrBamSeydu writes:
I'd probably choose ND over UT too with the way it's looking. I'm surprised we still have any commits.
OakyVol09 writes:
I agree. Not that UT is showing their best right now, but I do not understand any kid that chooses Notre Dame or Stanford over playing in the SEC. Maybe we are biased because we live here and Oliver and Nunes do not, but if you want to be the best, you have to play against the best. The best reside in the SEC. Playing USC once a year does not mean you are playing the best competition like you are every time you line-up against an SEC opponent. Ask OSU. I am not saying we do not need this kid, but I am hoping his spot opens the door for some local kids like Eric Gordon to want to play in our defensive backfield. Kids who are not scared of SEC competition.

Just keep bashing and booing. That really makes kids want to come here. They like that stuff.

Keep booing. It does not make the players or coaches perform
any better. It does leave a dark impression on the prospects.

Looks like my negative comments are affecting recruits yet again!!!!!! I guess my voice is being heard. Can you hear me now Jim Haslam? Oh, and I thought Clawson was going to have "total control" of the offense. At least that's what the morons like little man sjt claimed all summer. ROTFLMGAO!!!!!!!!!!!

At least we're consistent; we lose both games and potential recruits! Way to go fat boy! Mr. Hamilton, can we now lose our head football coach too? Please? What do you say Thunder?

Are they any good at judging talent? The following was said about this kid in April....
“We moved Daryl Vereen to our second-team safety, and he looked very good out there,” Fulmer said following a two-hour practice at Haslam Field. “It's just an experiment, so we'll see (whether the move is permanent) but he's too good an athlete to be staying over there third- or fourth-team at tailback.”
Scout said...
Blessed with reported 4.38 speed over 40 yards, Vereen attended UT's senior camp in June of 2006 and was so impressive that Fulmer offered him a scholarship
Then yesterday this.... after moving him to LB: "he looks like a very fast linebacker rather than a limited safety."
What is a limited safety??? Is that code for SLOW (footwise or mentally), or can't guard my house with a machine gun?... Certainly not 4.38 speed!!!
Tell us the truth!!!!

You cant possibly think that booing is all that changed the dudes mind. Folks, when a business is falling apart its not the unhappy customers fault, its the management making customers unhappy.

I'm looking forward to picking up the blue chip recruits that NO DOUBT decommitted from Auburn, Georgia, Florida, and Michigan after their teams were booed last week. After all, that's the reason the prospects decommit right?

Nd would beat tn by two touchdowns. This is not last year when ND was bad so dont kid yourself. So when ND wins 9 games this year i doubt there will be a new coach.

He's only 5"11". A tad too short for SEC play (IMO).

Yeah, I love how everyone told me my comments over the past 2 years were not going to effect a change at the top. Well, I guess the negative comments and booing is indirectly effecting recruiting classes and the public perception of the program from a national level. I love how the negative fans who had no power are having such an impact on our football program. I'll leave you with a quote from Samuel Adams:
"It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds." Samuel Adams
Too bad for Foolmore, the negative fans are no longer the minority. ROTFLMGDAO!!!!!!!!

This kid is smarter than I thought. Thank you once again, Vols. This kid will star right along side Golden Tate for the 3-1 Irish. No kid wants to play for this front running fan base. Keep it up!! All together now BOOOOOO!

Notice the key word: "reported." 40 yd dash times can be notoriously inaccurate.
My guess is that his 40 time was a little generous. No way he gets moved to LB if he really has 4.3 speed.

All of you corporate kool aid Fulmer supporters really need to just quit it and open your eyes. I no longer live in Tennessee and I can tell you that every other state in the South thinks Fulmer is an absolute joke. The reason these kids are going other places is because other schools play Freshman whereas at Tennessee with the exception of #14 none of our guys can learn the system???? Julio Jones and A.J Green sure aren't waiting until the end of their Junior year to play. This year of all years when we have a "New Offensive System" the best players should play. I don't boo because these kids are giving the best they have but everyone needs to open their eyes on Fulmer and say enough is enough. Look at his last 5 years in the SEC and he is barely a .500 coach. So I say good luck to all of the foolish people who continue to support him because I can't do it anymore.

Look Guys
We all know that not ever Kid playing football is going to make a career of the game. A few to the NFL and a few to coaching. So most kids should choose a school where they will be ready to make career for them selves in another field. So they should pick a school that is strong in their choosen field. Making fans happy is great when you are hunting girls as a kid but the pay is poor.

Fans don't play the game..recruits aren't listening to the fans to make a decision. If I was a recruit, I would look at the program, head coach, division championships, and where it's heading. FANS DO NOT DETERMINE WHERE A RECRUIT GOES. FANS do however pay the bucks to make it all happen. SO, FANS have a right to say whatever they want.

well he seen the writting on the wall probably.this could be just 2 of many that decommitt before seasons end and if people think its because of all the booing then they need another tote of those funny cigarettes.I think we started a trend , I heard booing during the Fla,Aub,Ga,over the weekend, so its catching on.

Hey TexasVolFan, do you even follow college football? Last time I checked, Notre Dame was 3-1 and UT is 1-3.
I'm not sure, but I think my Irish have the better record. I don't know how they count in Texas, but I count normal. Absolute genius.
We are going to have the same coach next year, so will UT. That is why you will probably keep losing recruits. Although, I don't know of anymore you have that we would want.
