focusing on subject... those of you who selected a number higher than zero, who do you think these wins will come against?

I put three wins. I think we get Mississippi State, we get either Vanderbilt or Kentucky, and we get either Alabama or Georgia. I know Alabama/Georgia seem like a reach, but even on the down years, we pull one out of our behinds, and I would imagine it would be one of our two bigger rivals.

Maybe they'll beat Mississippi State. I'm afraid that the long winning streak against Kentucky ends this year.

I personally think they will win one or two SEC games.

I can't wait for basketball!
Games at TBA > Games at Neyland
Fans can stand up and cheer at TBA without being asked to sit down.

Watching Fulmer's pre-game pep talk and it's so obvious the team doesn't have a clue.
No response to the Fulmer's challenge.
Every true fan should watch the sports south replay!
I said nothing else about this team and season could shock me.
I was so wrong!
Sad!
Crompton looking around while Fulmer trying to pump them up.
I bleed orange, but this almost makes me sick.

JUST LIKE THE ELECTION POLLS, BEAT THE POET(OBAMA)OVER THE HEAD AND SCREAM PROPHESY, PROPHESY. THIS EQUALS THE BIRTH OF THE BAST......OBAMA. PRETENDER AND KALIL GIBRAN OF "MIDDLE AMERICA" speaking of elections, polls just makes me think in the present, sorry but victories are what Obama is thinking about, not us here at Tennessee. We could probably take a hint at his swagger and learn from it. Don't play to win, just assume that you will, and make everyone else think they're crazy to think, assume otherwise. Of course i have come to the rescue of the confused. You are welcome. We can beat Vandy, Kentucky, maybe Alabama, but Georgia? Miss State? South Carolina? I don't really know. 5 to 6 victories. If shades of Dewey Warren return watch out, if this team catches on fire, the Fulmer haters will be eating their words. this man has been around long enough to hear the thunder before the rain. No applause please, just throw money! And thank you. I was born to comment and you were born to understand.

I am shocked they even allowed it to be shown.
Fulmer kept bringing up 2007 as the players set there looking like they could care less.
I'll go back and watch it after the replay is over and post his words.
Sad!

"But I'm asking you.Do you believe that you can do that ? (a pause ),(dead silence). Then coached stuttered a bit and said ,"Do you believe that you can bounce back.We pratice damn well.We know what to do.They don't respect you. They don't respect that T in the middle of the field."(not sure who the "they" is). Then another speech and finally. "You are a damn good football team. You are really close.Really, really close."

I started watching the replay and then I got sick and turned it off. but just maybe the SEC will feel sorry for UT and let them count the Wyoming game for a conference win to try and help recruiting , thats if they can even win the game.

I think Fulmer probably can still coach. He just can't recruit. No wonder the players looked bored during Fulmer's talk. They're an uninspired bunch! It's easier to judge talent than character. Tim Priest lambasted the offensive line throughtout the game for their half-hearted effort. And, please don't tell me how the coaches aren't doing a good enough job of motivating the players. If being deemed good enough to wear the Tennessee orange isn't motivation enough for you, then take the damn shirt off and go home! Losers.

By the way, I responded to the poll, and I gave this bunch of losers a big, fat zero. They couldn't beat themselves, much less an SEC opponent. I've never been one who liked to hear fans booing their own team, but this buhch deserves to be booed.

tngeoff - Priest also cut on Foster for dancing and going East-West- Duh!

We should beat MSU (maybe in a death struggle} but staying this course I can see us losing Bama-Ga-Vandy Ky. SC will be interesting.

Foster is his main man and Phil will ride with him right out of town.

We'll see how well this duct tape D does Saturday. We can hope. I think back to the physical nightmares of getting into and out of Sanford stadium. Whew, don't miss it at all.

Phil must have a few cuzins posting on GVX for free Golden Corral coupons.

ROCKY TOP (2008 VERSION)
Wish that Phil was gone from Rocky Top
Sent away from the Tennessee hills
Ain't no wins or fans on Rocky Top
Ain't no SEC thrills

Once we had a team on Rocky Top
Half run, the other half pass
Quick as a mink,
But strong as mountain men
We still dream about that.

Rocky Top come back to me
The best in the SEC
Good ol' Rocky Top
Rocky Top Tennessee,
Rocky Top Tennessee

Once some Vols fans climbed ol' Rocky Top
Lookin' for a Gator kill
Phil got out-coached on ole Rocky Top
And Phil always will

Rocky Top come back to me
On top of the SEC
Good ol' Rocky Top
Rocky Top Tennessee,
Rocky Top Tennessee

Phil can't coach no more on Rocky Top
The game has passed him by
That's why all the fans on Rocky Top
Are singing Me Oh My

Rocky Top come back to me
On top of the SEC
Good ol' Rocky Top
Rocky Top Tennessee,
Rocky Top Tennessee

I've had years of cramped-up Neyland life
Hoping for a simple win
All I know is it's a pity if Phil
Will be our coach again

Rocky Top come back to me
On top of the SEC
Good ol' Rocky Top
Rocky Top Tennessee,

A few words come to mind when watching our season so far:
Apathetic, anemic, clueless, over confident, self-centered, and down right lousy. Of course I am talking about the offense and coaching. No shuffle passes, no wrinkles, just up the middle, no blocking, movement on the line, and penalites after another. It goes on an on. Clawson's playbook needs to come with a six pack of steroids, Fulmer needs to go to spend this winter at a coaching clinic, Hamilton needs his head examimed, and our team needs to watch re-runs of "We are Marshall", " Rudy", and "Remember the Titans"

I think the chances of Fulmer returning next year are very slim. Here's why. UT is currently 2-3 with no SEC wins. There are 6 SEC games remaining. Is 7-5 good enough for Fulmer to keep his job? If he loses to Ga and Ala (which is likely) and wins all of the others, he will finish 7-5. I hope 7-5 will not mean Fulmer is back next year, but it could. If he goes 6-6, I think he is gone. All it will take to go 6-6 is a loss to Ga and Ala and one loss to either SC, Vandy or Ky. Two loses in the last group and UT ends 5-7. The Ga game this weekend is very important for Fulmer. With a win at GA, the team could come together enough to finish 7-5 or better which could leave the door open for Fulmer to return next year. Do you pull for UT to beat Ga? Well that depends on whether you want Fulmer back next year or not.

Obviously you have partaken of both the Obama and Fulmer kool-aide cups. Lets see---Vandy beats Auburn and KY looses by 3 to #2 Bama, at Bama! If any of the remaining games were to be played this weekend, the Little Orange would not be favored in any. Miss St might be a pick-um.

Lofton4Three writes:

I wonder what all the so called "scouts" that stated that Foster would be a second round pick are saying now?

Don't get me wrong...there is a big demand in the NFL for backs that run like they are wearing steel-toed combat boots, and fumble under pressure from what the scouts say...

Brent Hubbs said it best...Lennon Creer would START on upwards to 8 teams in the SEC...he doesn't sniff the field here. Our heralded leader is the worst judge of talent I've ever seen.

Fulmer will not win at Georgia this week nor with Alabama and he will struggle and lose another game between Ky, SC, Vandy (pick one). His job is safe, Hamilton will give it another year. The Vols might rebound next year, but that leaves the door open for Fulmer to stay awhile and see what happens again. This has been going on for quite a few years now.

For what its worth...(which isnt much)

My Take...

N. Illinois game....Nick Stephens looked great. Not rattled at all starting. Poised, confident.
Secondly, and again, my opinion, I beleive the coaching staff(right or wrong)knew that we could handle them. Deliberately play called to let Nick get situated. Didnt put him in bad circumstances and boosted his confidence. Inside the 30 our D tightened and played lights out. Yes, I know the opponent, but still were very good.

All this being said, WE all know that we are due to knock someone off their proverbial high horse. Oh, who do I see. GEORGIA...the mighty bulldogs, who we have skull fu#$ed the past two seasons. Mentally, we own them. Now we have to put the physical part in play. I truly beleive, IMO, that Saturdays game made HUGE strides in the team. The score might not indicate it, but I beleive this Saturday will pay the dividends. Thanks for letting me speak...GO VOLSSSSSSSSSS
