Tennessee’s Vicki Baugh took part Tuesday in her most extensive women’s basketball workout since suffering a torn left anterior cruciate knee ligament in April’s national championship game.
The 6-foot-4 sophomore forward participated in some offensive drills during a team workout at Pratt Pavilion.
"I was excited, a little too excited," she said.
She was a little hesitant, too.
"I was going in for a layup and I kind of backed it out,’’ she said. "I’ll overcome it."
Baugh said the plan is to continue working toward more workout time. The Lady Vols begin practice in earnest Oct. 17.
"I know I can’t do too much,’’ Baugh said. "We have to take it a step at a time. If my knee is ready, I’m going to continue to practice."
