KINGSPORT – After nearly 31 years Gary Myers is stepping down as director of the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency.
Myers, 73, announced his retirement Wednesday at the end of the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Commission meeting.
Myers came to TWRA in 1974 as assistant director of field operations after working 11 years for the Colorado Game and Fish Department. He was named interim director of TWRA in August 1977 and director in February 1978.
