Why? Why would anyone do this? What is the point? Simply to vent more? Be used by a marketing scheme of the KNS?

Coach Fulmer will be around at least through 2013. Nothing we can do about it.

vol4gzus writes:

Dumb is more like it. Tell the useful purpose they have for this. Correct ,there is none. This is a ploy to be used against VOLS and more specifically Coach Fulmer(proper) and his staff. None of you is going to feel any better by yelling, screaming cursing at an answering machine for 30 seconds. Am I right? Your bit is boycott and scream at VOL walks so our players can see the support of true VOL fans who are there through thick and thin. Your support doesn't mean you agree with coaches 100% since no one does. No, not even us 'KOOLAID ' drinkers do that. We'll dinner bells a ringin see ya boys.....

givehim6 writes:

Do not need to vent much more, the vol staff knows what the proble is but what will be done will be more "working like heck to get better". All I'm doing is lowering my exceptions. UT football is now the SEC east's version of MSU.

volsfan327 writes:

30 seconds in not enough for this frustrated Vol Fan! It is a good thing I have a strong heart or the Vols would have killed me years ago! Fulmer has every asset available to put together a National Championship contender. If he is lacking anything, all he has to do is ask and it will be delivered in minutes. ENOUGH OF THE EXCUSES!!!!!!! Do not insult our intelligence!!!

volsfan327 writes:

There, now I don't have to call :)

volssam writes:

For real, even though a lot of us are upset (mostly with the coaches)doesn't mean we should abandon the team.....they're still a bunch of 18-23 yr old boys who need our support. And any recruits that might be at the games need to see a good fan base.....

....as bad as this loss was and as badly as it hurt, it happens....teams lose all the time to teams they should dominate (see USC-Stanford or Pitt-WVU or ULM-Bama from last season)....now if we get back up from this nastiness and grow as a team and play to the potential, we can pull some of these upsets ourselves....and we as fans should be there to root for it.......

budd#207344 writes:

If you really want to vent and feel good about it stay out of Neyland. Don't give away the tickets, don't sell them just don't go. When Haslam sees those empty seats on TV he will have mikey firing fulmer. These guys understand one thing, money, and loss thereof
If you continue to patronize this terrible football you will ruin this program for years to come. We cannot wait for 2013. This is going to ruin this program if we do not get rid of fulmer now. mikey needs to go too but of we can at least turn this around before nobody wants to play here it will help

I got to hear one message. It was from a Norm C. in Calif to a Mr. Chavis. Short one.

"Thanks".

vol4gzus writes:

pdhrpuffnstuff that was classic I don't know if I will ever hear one better than that. They said could hear some later...how did you hear now? On KNS staff? Are you really JA? Also why would Mr. Chow call a frustration line? He was happy to get a W after horrendous first half by Craft. So none of your post makes sense...probably like mine sir.

Frustration usually occurs when things get off kilter and we have no control of the outcome.

bugman (Inactive) writes:

Don't hate on Hamilton, he does a good job for the most part. After all, he hired Pearl when no one else wanted him and that worked out pretty well. Also consider the renovations to the basketball stadium and Neyland. Overall he's a good Athletic Director. He's made mistakes with Fulmers contract but Fulmer will retire before 2013. Take a deep breath and relax.

one of the things i don't understand......

how is being upset about losing make someone a bad fan?

doesn't that mean you care?

i see a lot of folks claiming that people are overreacting to the game yesterday.

it just means people care. winning (especially in our league) is tough. when wins are hard to come by, you can't lose games you are supposed to win.

i completely understand the anger.

especially when people get pumped up about the new staff, new personnel, monday night football, etc, etc, etc....and they looked the way they looked.

don't hate on people who have a hard time accepting what happened monday night.

florida fans started a website to get rid of their coach when stuff like this happened. so people here are well behaved by comparison.

99gator writes:

one last thing.....

as it is what the zooker is famous for from his time at florida.....no matter how bad things got....zook claimed it was "getting better and better". after a while, you felt like you were being lied to and took it personnally.

i think the same thing is happening with this situation. fans were sold that things were going to be new, exciting, wide open, and different. that the program is turning the corner.

what they got friday night.....was boring, lackluster, and inept. so, i think people feel as if the offseason was nothing but a big lie.

and people are taking it personally.

In reality, Vols have been losing big clutch games for past 65 years...its a tradition. Please do not play football in lalaLand again, the the late great Kentucky basketball coach once took his team to Los Angeles and they lost two games in a row. Rupp said afterwards, " it seems our boys got too much of Hollywood and the bright lights". Rupp went on to say that " Our Kentucky boys like to sleep in their own beds and eat their own food". He never allowed his wildcats to ever again play in lalaLand-ever.

hdhurst writes:

Hey fellas, I hate losing (to anyone) just as bad and anyone posting here, and yes, this is an ugly loss. But, to the Vols defense, let's look at the most significant facts of why it failed to produce a winner. First and foremost, we do not have a developed QB yet...JC is good (but still lacking when it comes to making adjustments on a good defense, and UCLA has a good D). Second, our D played nice in the first half, but no one expected the 2nd half magic from Craft and by the time we wised up to re-adjust to their adjustments it was too late. Third, working off a new offensive scheme and new players taking charge, it obviously has not become 2nd nature to them. Last, we did come in a little too confident; even with a good offensive product (which I think we will soon see), it was not ready to be "explosive" as we had hoped. Again, I hated to lose this game, but I think our best is yet to come. I am not ready to give up on Fulmer or Clawson just yet. Before the goon squad replies, I am not an orange koolaid drinker. I take things for what they are, and I don't think this loss is as hopeless as some of you make it out to be. Really, did you think we would be going to the NC game anyway; if so, then maybe you are on the orange koolaid. I am no genuis or a pronostacator, but I will say this, I think we will see a more focused team and coaching staff from here on out--now that we know we aren't as good as we think we were.

I think the AD and coaching staff owes us our money back... community service maybe (CPF can wear his "Great Pumpkin" highway worker jacket)? Maybe the KNS can put up a sign-up sheet.

99gator has it exactly right. We've been told lies for many months now and the truth was told Monday night. Sad thing is Fulmer gets a bonus for the kind of mediocrity Zook was fired for at Florida. But after the 1-4 start I think things will change. And I just can't imagine that team beating UF, UGa or Auburn.

gatorzz, I am in Austin, Tx so obviously what I hear about Crompton is 2nd and 3rd hand info. I would venture to say that this is the same for a lot of others. I haven't read too many postings of fans who have seen the practices/scrimmages. Some of the hype may be carry over from his high school days. I tend to believe that the kid has some talent, and though we have yet to see it, I continue to hope that we will... and soon. Nobody said he was a Peyton or a T. If this continues we will settle for an Ainge.

Well its Wednesday and Im still pizzed off...lol...I havent visited one sports site on the net, for fear of reading some jacknuts assessment of the debacle. But, what ive come to realize the problem was (to me) is this....
1. Jonathan sucked...(PERIOD)..will he get better?god only hopes
2.Dave Clawson looked (literally) like a deer in the headlights and his play calling or lack there of was very apparent.
3.Our D is stout. Line looked good. everyone did. BUT. they are told to play where the coaches want em...E.G. 12 yards off the ball (dbs) and we make Craft look like Favre.
4.ARIAN ..ARIAN..ARIAN..(hey coaching staff...take a look at Montario...just my opinion)
5.Games are ebb and flow. Changes are critical for success. Mr.Chavis, Mr.Clawson, and Mr.Fulmer, please see 2nd half of game and refer any questions to Mr. Chow at UCLA
6.My love for this team and university and state are deep and strong. Its just so frustrating to see what needs to be done during the game and not one step in that direction is taken. I think Chavis needs to get in the booth so he can see the cushion the Mustang puts his DBs in.
7.Im thru moaning and groaning. I love ya Vols. But yall are killing me. Get beat cuz they are better, not because we are so inept from coaching and execution.
8.Time to be accountable, then get on track.
9.Short memory, and move on. Go Vols

mivol writes:

Neyland turns over in his grave at the costly kicking game mistakes. Play defense and win the kicking game and you will win games. Fulmer no longer looks like he comes from Neyland lineage.

wagee12 writes:

Budd has it right. The only way you will ever get bean counter Hammy's attention is to stay away from Neyland Stadium and don't buy any licenced merchandise until it is on super markdown closeout. Otherwise and as long as the cash registers keep clicking merrily along, there will be no movement to oust PhillerUp and Beef Chavez. Tailgate in your backyard and save the gasoline.

8 is enough? Since when does 10 wins equal 8? 3 out of the last 5 years have had 10 wins. Coach Fulmer has had only ONE year with less than 8 wins. That's not mediocracy. I agree it could be better, but it also could be worse, a lot worse. I don't believe Mondays game is an indication of how the entire season will play out. I bet you thought Michigan would have a horrible year after they lost to Appalachian State last year, correct? Guess who they beat in a bowl? Florida. LSU lost two games last year. One of those was to Kentucky. They almost lost to AU, FL, UA, and TN, but still managed to win the National Title.

Yes, we should have beat UCLA, but the sky is not falling. I say give the guys a chance. Lets see what they do against Florida and Auburn. I think we will win at least one of those games, maybe both. Win or lose I'm still true Orange.

wagee12 writes:

Great post ccram! Ten years without an SEC title, no BCS bowl since 1999. A winning record built upon the backs of South Carolina, Kentucky and Vanderbilt. Riddle me this batman, which SEC coach with a marvelous winning percentage has a losing record against Mark Richt, Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, Les Miles, Steve Spurrier and Tommy Tubberville?

ccram writes:

wagee12 Who won the UT-GA game in Athens last year? What about UT-GA in Knoxville the year before? 3 out of the last 4 UT-GA games have been won by the Vols. The great Saban....lost every game after the UT game until the bowl. Even lost to Louisiana Monroe, but wow what a coach. Spurrier, he's really ripping it up at USC. Tubberville, AU fans are about ready to fire him. Richt and Tubberville, no national titles. When was UGA's last title? How about Auburn. Which one of those guys have won multiple National titles? Winning it all is not as easy as you would make it out to be.

wagee12 writes:

ccram, you Foolmurr enablers always want to recite ancient football history don't you. How many SEC titles has your beloved leader won during his tenure as head coach? Spurrier inherited a rundown program, immediately sent several thugs packing and now has one of the top defenses in all of college football. You're going to get a mouth full of crow before this sorry season is over. That UCLA game was a total embarassment to the university, this state and the fans of this once nationally recognized program. So keep talking, I'm archiving your posts and will reprint them in November!

wagee12 Here's the deal, I don't think the opening game determines the outcome of a season. We may lose 4 or 5 games, that remains to be seen. If we do, then there may need to be some changes. Why throw in the towel after game 1. This game doesn't matter so much in the overall scheme of things. Lets play the Gators and the Tigers and see where we are then.

pdhuff#552644 writes:
