I could have gotten great tickets to this game....in fact, the fella I know who has these tickets was willing to sell them at original price to just get rid of them. I declined. I just bought a new LCD, 42 inch tv that has a great picture, and gas prices are too high!! LOL
The main reason I declined these tickets, and refused to make the drive to Knoxville, is because I cant see paying that much to see a Vols team that lost to UCLA and continues to play Mustang D. I cant take it anymore. I cant stand to see 3rd and 8's turn into first downs for the opposition due to our DB's being 12 yards off the WR's. I can be just as frustrated in my living room, in my lazy boy, and not go thru the hassle of crowds and parking and paying big prices. So, I'll be watching in my living room. Boy, there was a day that I would have jumped all over those Florida game tickets.

52 inches of Sony HD surrounded by a Bose system guaranteed to raise the hair on your neck...its wild i tell you.....when Chavis and Phil were bent over with hands on their knees.....the back if their necks looks like a pack of hot dogs...never noticed that before, not sure I relly care to again..

Volfan, we too bought an LCD 60" three years ago this past August. It developed little blue squiggly monsters all over the screen and long story short, it has been in the repair shop more than 4 weeks and now we have now learned that it is unrepairable. The company no longer makes the needed part. I hope that you have better luck with yours. The plasma seems to be the way to go for both quality of picture and reliability.

No matter if you are watching from home or attending the game in person, let's pull for the Vols and see if they can "shock the world" with a huge upset over Florida.
Maybe having Al Wilson deliver the pregame speech will inspire our boys to go out and play the game of their young lives.
I'll be there in the South End Zone pulling for our boys.
GO VOLS !!

Rich, must have been your local affiliate having issues. I watched the Raycom broadcast here in Ohio with no problems. There were a couple times when the picture froze for half a second but nothing like 30 seconds.
GoVol writes:
Rich - that wasn't raycom pausing befor ever critical 3rd down, it was fulmer!

VolFan007,
You can't be too much of a diehard vol fan if you would pass up on face value Tenn-Fla tickets. A true fan is going to support the players no matter who the coach is! You don't have to be happy about the coaching or play calling, but a REAL Vol Fan will support the TEAM no matter what!

Truevolfan.
So being a "true fan" means paying money for a product that one feels is unacceptable. Lets say you have a child who is addicted to drugs. Because you "love" said child you support them into bankruptcy and foreclosure? Or say you are a true fan of pilot gas, yet it makes your vehicle run like garbage. Would you still buy Pilot fuel? Just because you don't donate cash to a something you love doesn't mean that you aren't a true fan.
RockyTopVolFan writes:
Geeeez, some folks here exaggerate greatly when they say they are Vol fans.
Maybe they're Gators in disguise.
I know all this banter is b.s. and down mouthing our team just pisses off fans like me.
What happened yesterday does NOT matter.
It only increases a real fan's desire for Victory
against the Gator nation.
WHAT MATTERS IS what HAPPENS on the field of play Saturday at Neyland. I will be back on the board Saturday night and Sunday to celebrate our Vols slaying of the "Goliath Gators" that some second rate "vol fans" do not think is possible.
I believe in our team and coaches. I hope they make a lot of negative people eat their words Saturday. GO VOLS!
BlueTickLady writes:
First time at Neyland was the 2006 loss to Florida. At $300.00 a ticket, a 3 hour drive and several hundred dropped at Calhouns bar it was still worth it. There is no better way to experience the game. . . This year it will be on my 50 inch HD Plasma but if I could have found tickets at a reasonable price I would be there. Instead I will have to go with the "viewing at home" game day tradition of a shot of Rumplemints after each UT score. Here's to me being "fuzzy" by halftime. Cheers and Go Vols!
Striker writes:
Lets get this strait, i do and always will support our Vols. However, the prices have just gotten way out of hand. The price of gas and HDTV have nothing to do with it for me or most other fans. I was offered tickets at face value twice, and turned them down.
A UT football game the cost for a family of four to all go, including parking, and minimal snacks inside the stadium is almost as much as a cheap vacation. Thats simply too much, so for me, I plan to always pull for the kids, watch from home (if its free, Raycom PPV was HORRIBLE) and wait til the prices come down. And they wont so i guess im watching at home from now on.
The moral to the story to Hamilton and the big dogs. Gas prices, poor coaching, crowded seats, or admission, I have NEVER seen tickets for face value to Florida, EVER. The fans are growing ill, blame it on whatever you want, but they are. Its time to give something to the fans, and students or you will see it in the bottom line very soon. More than likely by seasons end.

Thanks to Foolmurr, apathy is starting to set in on many Big Orange fans. Too many years without an SEC title and BCS bowl game will start to wear on you after awhile. Factor in poor recruiting in two of the last three years and suddenly here we are, the Florida game with tickets still available for sale to the public. There's at least two dozen fans I have spoken with here in West Tennessee that have usually attended three to four home games a year who swear they will not go back until a new staff is brought into the football program.

I have been known to make a wager or two in my life.........I would be willing to wager a substantial amount that TN will win more than 5 games.........Takers????

Looks like the bandwagon is getting roomy! I'll exchange my seat for my leather recliner and enjoy the ride...win or lose.
OR, you could be like a lot of little kids who pull for last year's NC. But be careful, the Condom's bandwagon is getting really full.

TrueVolfan,
I have been a lifetime Vol fan(I'm 46 yrs old). My Dad was a lifetime Vol fan. His Dad would have been a TN fan, but he lived so far back in the hills of Wayne County that he didnt know that football existed.
I am a TN Vol fan....thru and thru. BUT, I will not drive 7 hours to Knoxville, spend a ton of money on tickets, pay for a motel room, pay to eat out every meal....and then, see Chavis play the Mustang D whenever we get a lead. I cant stand it anymore, and I will not pay good money and spend lots of time to come watch it in person.
Bobbarbilly, thanks for telling me about LCD tv's now that I have bought one....geeeeez... talking about throwing cold water on a guy!!!?? Maybe you just bought a lemon? Boy, I hope so, because I paid a lot of good money for this TV.
BigOrangeFanatic writes:
To all the fans fed up with the coaches, players, and mike hamilton:
The University of Tennessee does not need you! Go find another team and jump on their bandwagon and when they lose, yell for the coach's head. The bottom line is you have no idea what you are talking about. What are your football qualifications? Did you play little league? Do you coach a pee-wee team?
The Vols could certainly use the support, but the game will go on without you. Coach Fulmer and his staff have more wins than you APATHETIC fans could ever dream of. Teams cannot and will not win every single game, stop the offense every single play, and score on every single possession.
Teams have bad games and good games. The year the Vols went 5-6, they beat a darn good LSU team. So, you never know what is going to happen. Look at West Va. Who would have thought they would be 0-3 at this point.
My point is...let the season play out. Even if the Vols do not win, there is alot of football to be played. So, get over yourselves, you are not John Madden or Dick Butkus, you are an average fan who thinks they know the game better than professional coaches. Your comments on here are SIMPLE and ludicrous. They are so ignorant that I just laugh every time I read them.
