Wide receiver Kendall Kelly from Gadsden City High School in Gadsden, Ala., didn’t visit Tennessee last weekend as he previously planned.
The 6-foot-3, 215-pound Kelly said he didn’t visit because he was unable to leave with teammate Dre Kirkpatrick, who made the trip to UT.
Kelly instead visited Auburn to watch the Tigers play LSU.
Kelly said he hopes to visit UT on Oct. 25 when the Vols play Alabama.
That would seem like a good weekend for Kelly to visit. He said Alabama is a big part of UT’s tradition.
“I think of the big rivalry with them and Alabama,” Kelly said.
Kelly has become more familiar with Alabama since Nick Saban became coach of the Crimson Tide before the 2007 season.
Kelly has been impressed by Saban’s job at Alabama.
“He’s done well down there,” Kelly said. “He’s got the guys all coming together. They all believe in what they’re doing.”
Alabama already has a tie to Kelly with freshman linebacker Jerrell Harris, who signed with the Tide out of Gadsden City in February.
Kelly said Harris hasn’t pressured him to choose Alabama.
“He just said it’s a big jump from high school to college,” Kelly said.
Kelly still has plenty of jumps to make before he chooses a school.
He said he’s still considering UT, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, LSU, Florida State, Clemson, Southern Cal and Oregon.
Kelly said he hasn’t set dates for any official visits. He said he will do that after he shortens his list of schools.

Good thing he didn't come. Watching that debacle would have drove him straight to Saban.

I would like to see this kid become a Vol but if what Saban is doing is impressing him then what Fulmer has done has to be a complete opposite

OH..maybe i wasn't clear..It's not because of negative posts here..it's positive over there..How many fumbles, penalties, bad plays, movement, thrown interceptions, bad special teams plays did Auburn have? And that wasn't us..i know..i got that

Coaches in the SEC don't have to go to recruits house for a visit, they just send them to UT for thier official visit and its a done deal.

Saban or Phil, Saban or Phil? Is that really a tough one?

If he comes during our present situation to the Bama game it will be to see Alabama...not us.

If you think these kids have nothing better to do than read our post and make decisions based our our opinions, your mistaken. The top talent already kows what direction a program is headed in and will consult family and HS coaches first.
Bottom line is we are sliding in the wrong direction and change for the better is our only salvation. With CPF in the hot seat, more prospects will overlook us or bail on verbal commitments.

Lets see, LSU, Auburn, Alabama, USC, (UT???), Fullusnomore has got to go. The stands will be empty, we know this, recruiting will suffer, why keep the guy? Really, tell me WHY?

HAhahha, it is so funny becase it is true! At least they are not going to Vandy anymore, we are the new vandy!

Priceless comments....so glad I didn't have to pay money for these continual bashings marathons. Just remember chicken little's famous cry,"the sky is falling." Or "women and children first." Or"my glass is only half empty." Some of you have turned into JA clones when it comes to UT futbol.....
On topic, mr. Kelley see you in October on the 25th as I will be in attendance to cheer on the VOLS regardless of the outcome.
FFT, as I was running this a.m. my thots went to what is a true fan. A fan likes a team and usually pulls for them to win. A true fan of a team always pulls for them good or bad.So we have alot of fans, but sadly I think a small true fan base. No charge for that opinion.

Kelly will end up going to bama. He just wants to seat in the UT section so he will get to hear UT own fans boo there own team.

Fulmer is totally destroying this program. If he isn't replaced at the of this year, we'll have a mountain to climb to return to being respectable and competitive. Look how long it took Bama?

I don't agree. Most people who post here are true fans, hoping UT wins every single time out. But since they are not winning and because they are not pleased with the coaching or the mistakes does not mean they are not true fans. If they jump ship and quit supporting the team, then they are not true fans. But if they think that Fulmer or Chavis should go, they are wanting the best for the football program and are thus still true fans, even by your definition. We are not all looking at the state of the program with blinders and are all entitled to our opinion.

Yeah I am real impressed with Saban. Lets see, six losses last year, Louisiana-Monroe, Miss St and Auburn! Yeah real impressed. So far not really played anyone and Clemson doesn't count since they actually suck. Alabama will have lost 3 to 4 games by the end of the season and be in third in the West.

Country# still keeping Spurrier's numbers from Florida in there huh? I think relevance is him vs. Spurrier now at South Carolina since most of the other coaches are fairly new post Stevie at Fla.
Think that makes 25-20 which isn't earth shattering either ,but all together good take out Meyer and pretty competitive. Of the bigs down with Meyer, almost even Miles and Richt. Down to Saban by your numbers includes his stint at Lsu and Bama. He is dead even with Tommy T. That will go one way or the other Sat. Probably to Tommy T. win column.

Why is it that "true fans" have to blindly scream, cheer and salivate over what so far is a Tennessee team with no identity, no discipline and no grasp of the offense? Granted, this is Clawson's first year so no one expected perfection, but when a downed lineman gets a false start penality for jerking up to get the play from the sideline from A COACH WHO WAS AN OFFENSIVE LINEMAN something is seriously, seriously wrong. This wasn't like '05 or even last year, when we lost but in the end, knew the team would pull together. This is a team with no self-identity, and coming from a coach who's made the same statements in four successive seasons, that's unacceptable!
