I think USC should fire Pete Carroll. This is the 3re year he has lost to a team he should have beaten. Twice to Oregon State and once to Stanford. He has had the best recruiting classes and still can't win. I think their fans should start booing.

Auburn wouldn't like the title of that story. They get downright bellicose when it's used. They love being backed into a corner.

After some reflection, I have come to the conclusion that Phillip may be dumb in some respects. Principally in coaching at a place where he is not appreciated nor respected. It becomes more evident when the disrespect affects his efforts to improve the team by recruiting top players who are affected by the conduct and attitude of the "fans", so he is at a disadvantage at the beginning.
If your "fans" persist in destroying the foundation of what they want you to build, I suppose you have to be a bit dumb to stay at the place.
But who would come to such a place without being even more dumb?????

OK, I've been listening to the rhetoric for the past week, and here's my $0.02, in no particular order:

* Tennessee fans are embarrassed by another blow out to Florida
* Tennessee fans are embarrassed because CBS commentators made such a big deal about us booing and leaving Neyland early. We're also embarrassed that both our losses happened in front of god and a national TV audience.
* Tennessee fans are frustrated because we're used to winning all the time and a few losses drive us nuts. (Consider the plight of Charlie Weis at ND.)
* Tennessee fans are embarrassed that we have failed to live up to the national press's expectations.
* Tennessee fans are frustrated by the new-new (new QB, new offense) combination that's going to require nothing but time to develop. They're also not too happy that Crompton didn't get more experience points the past couple of years when UT was blowing out opponents and they could've put him in.

The bottom line: Tennessee fans are embarrassed.

Get over it. Let's get on with the season.

wewhite; The people who attend the games should be embarrassed by their own juvenile conduct in the stadium.
To call them fans is a stretch. Fans are those who support a team and realize the players and coaches are human and that sometimes you are the bug and sometimes the windshield.
To contribute to the downfall of the team you are supposed to be supporting is beyond stupid, but historically, that is common practice in knoxville.

Then again, I didn't drive across the state to watch a bug.
